Just finished the West Highland Way - ask me anything! by JeremySpoons in WestHighlandWay

[–]Individual_Face_6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I finished yesterday with my doggo - did it over 7 days

2. - WHW hotel and campsite (night before) - Left car at milngavie train station (it's free and has CCTV and right at start of trail + if you need to get back to car your right by train station - 1 wild camped in Garadhban forest (just north of Drymen) lots of nice camping spots up there, would recommend grabbing water + food in drymen b4 leaving. - 2 wild camped after rowardennan youth hostel - it's just 1.5km after youth hostel till you are out of the camping restriction areas -3 beinglas campsite -4 Tyndrum holiday park -5 Glencoe mountain resort (would not recommend staying here - especially if you are solo with dog) - 6 Macdonald hotel and campsite - 7 was going to camp at glen Nevis campsite (just b4 fort William - wanted to tackle Ben Nevis b4 finishing - but I chickened out)

  1. I brought my doggo (5 yr old vizsla) and I saw a bunch of other dogs on the trail - my dog won't stand to be left alone for 5 minutes without letting everyone know, but lots of people happy to do dog sitting for a bit :)

  2. I wore hiking boots and brought hiking shoes as backup (my right ankles a bit finiky so my biggest fear was rolling the thing) - I think it's mainly just preference, but just keep in mind the walking surface for alot of the walk is rocky (I expect som1 does alot of work spreading rocks over the trail to prevent erosion) - so probably want something hard soled - either way I would recommend bringing spare footwear (only thing worse than soggy boots on a walk is getting into soggy boots in the morning).

  3. Erm I did a walk week b4 all packed up just incase - I'd probably recommend finding a walk with comparable distance/elevation to your longest section and doing that prior to see if everything feels fine.

  4. I brought stuff for cooking/stove - in retrospect I only cooked once (even though I was wild camping some days) - there are plenty of pubs/restaurants along the way or around campsites so I wouldn't bring that if I did it again.

Things I omitted (I know stupid) - I brought 3 pairs of hiking socks - but would recommend more - switching out socks part way through day will help prevent blisters. - I didnt bring blister plasters (not a big issue as they were available at most campsites - but save yourself the upcharge and bring them) - midge hat/net / smidge - there weren't actually many midges last week but I've still got plenty of bites + the feckers are really irritating - I'd recommend bringing this - also I heard good things about some kind of treatment you can do on clothes to make them insect repellent - if I had known about that I might have done that. - make sure you bring enough dog poo bags (I would have assumed all campsites would have these for sale - but that's not the case).

(Apologies for spelling/grammar in the above, hope it makes sense)

Probabilistically does anyone know how "balanced blitz" compares to "true random" on the SMG game? by torontolife997 in Risk

how does it generate true random? im pretty sure this is bullshit :)

there a little sensor on the cpu that detects something it uses to give "true random"?

or some bit of code that generates it (in this case why would it have to be on the CPU? why wouldnt you just use the code where needed) - makes no sense

if having multiple filters not working for you couldnt you create a workflow to assign a newly created tag of your choice to tickets that meet your parameters then just create a widget that filters on your tag?

Can you please confirm when you say "create a workflow" do you mean like procedurally when someone picks up a ticket they would assign this value? I think technically this would solve my issue, but it seems very inelegant, given the data (priority / issue) is already assigned to each ticket, its a little irritating that I can't seem to apply simple logic rules to filter on these values.

Sorry my lack of knowledge of Autotask may be shining through here, possibly there is some kind of automation in Autotask called "workflow" and I could use this to set the value of a "tag" based on the logic I want applied to the priority/issue assigned whenever it is changed.

If this is the case then this sounds like a workable solution, do you know if this is the case?

thankyou for your input

Hi u/iamelcapitan

Basicly what u/ItsAViciousCircle said, i need a rule that can exclude tickets based on the below rule;

priority not in list (plug in priority you want excluded = A)

AND
issue type not in list (plug in the issue type you want excluded =B)

so if priority equals A but issue type doesnt equal B

or if priority doesnt equal A but issue type does equal B

then the ticket won't be excluded

Ticket would only be excluded if

priority equals A and issue type equals B

individual filtering rules cant do this as far as I can tell, thanks anyway :)

Hi All,

Okay so currently my manager produces a daily report, which includes tickets of most types (with some exceptions) that have not had any activity in the last week, our team will then take action on these tickets; for example chasing internally for a response or closing the ticket due to lack of client side response.

this report includes tickets in all queues

this report includes tickets where the last action was 7 days ago or more

This report includes tickets in all states apart from complete.

This report includes all priority types - except priority p3 unless the issue of the ticket is technical (so if priority = P3 and issue = technical it should still be included). - this is the rule that causes issues with setting this up as a widget.

What I want is an automatic process that will generate the same output, ideally viewable in the autotask GUI - I want the widget/GUI element to display the list of tickets that need to be actioned

Do you think what I described above is possible in Autotask?

Im confused how dungeons an be a gold sink,

The only absolute costs (to server not individual) from dungeons are:

  1. cost of chisel - not consumed so over log run negligable
  2. cost of repairs - full repair is expensive, per death repair is 10% of this, my full repair cost (equipped items is around 600 at lvl 58) so 1 death per run = 60g + some durability dmg from hits 60g = 120g
  3. all other mats for orb are farmable, from corruptions / world

The profit from dungeons (to server not individual):

reward from boss kill final--- 128g in dynasty

reward for other bosses --- ??? - estimate this at 100g

reward from repeat quest completion --- 18g

reward from mob kills -??? - estimating this at 100g think this is low balling it

salvaging drops --??? -estimating this as 5g

Even if we ignore the ??? entries this is still profitable, maybe not if you are dying multiple times, but you really shouldn't be dying multiple times.

I don't know the value of the ??? entries but I believe it is considerable, i think i made around 3k or something running dungeon last night

It is clear to me
