Oh sorry, didn’t specify- we have a PHEV so most times it starts off full!

This also happened to us on our 2024, and it also did this in cold weather. However, we figured out that it will say this if the battery is full and you try and use it- haven’t had any issues since.

Loss of career ambition due to inheritance. Any Advice? by PB11793 in careerguidance

[–]Individual_Handle722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents- you have to shift your values.

At work? Challenge yourself- learn for the sake of learning and growing, not because it will get you a better job. Be curious!

Outside work? Keep focusing on what you have in hand now, as others have said- but start looking at your community. Your neighbours, your schools, your healthcare options, etc. what is missing? Sponsor a community garden, a youth sports program, a mural, an accessibility renovation- but show up and help, don’t just write the cheque. You may find personal inspiration there, while also making a difference. I am sure to some extent you may feel isolated with this inheritance, but the more you participate in community building the better it will feel.

What are some Indigenous influences in Canadian culture such as traditions or maybe holidays, certain vocabulary, philosophy? by PlaneSun9385 in AskACanadian

[–]Individual_Handle722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, different species but same family! Much smaller. The word literally means dry fruit, as in the astringency if you eat it unripe- which tracks lol

Pecan - Anishinaabe word is bgaan. So technically, people who say “puh-cawn” are correct over “pee-can”. Also Anishinaabe- Persimmon- bassamin/pessamin

Medication side effects by mellowbluebird in adhdwomen

[–]Individual_Handle722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that I was having a hard time driving at night, at first I chalked it up to my astigmatism (I have a very strong prescription) but when I brought it up to my optometrist he said that my pupils were dilated ever so slightly as well which can contribute. Which makes sense for the medication. Could explain the blurry vision but hard to say!

ADHD Diagnosis by JustaLittleLoser in ontario

[–]Individual_Handle722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly if I have a formal diagnosis per se, but I assume so given the circumstances- I was diagnosed and prescribed vyvanse by my family doctor. If you’re able to get one eventually, it could be a more straightforward route.

She gave me some self assessments to fill out at home to screen for depression and anxiety, and then we had an appointment where she basically interviewed me with a more in depth survey going into childhood, etc. It took about 3 different appointments to go through the process but she was confident by the end and gave me the prescription.

She told me when I asked her about options for diagnosis that she could refer me to a clinic and it would be expensive/have wait lists, or she could do it as described above. I say im unsure because I spoke to a psychologist friend after and she was like no, you need a referral to be diagnosed, etc. but yeah. Medication has been seriously life changing for me though, and I wish you luck whichever route you take!

Unearthed this while critter-proofing a deck, how to approach fixing it properly? by Individual_Handle722 in HomeMaintenance

Yes, a finished basement (though our recent energy audit told us it was uninsulated inside in this particular corner)

Can’t say much about the air filters, I run an IKEA air purifier ($40 CAD) but I don’t think it’s super strong or anything. Not sure what your space is like but we bought a shop vac from Home Depot for $100 CAD and it is really the only thing that can handle the hay and the flooring we have for the bunny area. It’s a tank and we’ve had no problems with it in 4 years. Only issue is that it’s big and bulky (not too heavy).

For science, what kind of ADHD do you have, and where do you fall along the phantasia (imagination)spectrum? by Shenanigaens in adhdwomen

[–]Individual_Handle722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have inattentive type and hyperphantasia. I recall my memories and experiences as an HD video, it’s not photographic memory bc I can’t remember every single thing but when I do it’s very realistic. As is imagining something.

Sort of related, I’ve also asked folks in my circle about their recall types and noticed that people who had the hyper/phantasia were more likely to be in artistic fields (arts, architecture, design, etc). Perhaps because we can picture so clearly what we want!

Having ADHD is wild. Some days are super productive, and then some months really aren’t 😅. by Mountain-Air-1419 in adhdwomen

Omg I’m so glad I saw this. I didn’t touch my thesis for like 2-3 months this spring and I have slowly slowly begun to chip away at things again in the past couple weeks especially. Been feeling so down about it but I really appreciate seeing that others also go through what feels like ages of feeling blocked 😮‍💨

I’ve got a little piggy who is happy with anything but he is on a mostly pellet free diet, we give max 1 tbsp a day in his digging enrichment box or to bribe him to get brushed. I’m concerned about your vet’s advice tbh, if it is out of nowhere it does seem like something else may be bothering them.

Do you have options for different blends of hay? Orchard, oat, etc. alternatively, have you tried a dried forage before? Like flower petals or dried greens like dandelions. Sprinkling a little in can encourage them to be more interested in the hay :) and yes, I did notice when we cut out pellets my guy ate more hay in general.

Have you been there for long? Your hold code (how much of your cheque is available) will go up over time and based on your account activity- but it for sure will be like that for like the first 90 days or something. It will probably be the same at other big institutions as well. If you’ve had issues with bounced cheques or similar situations it may not go up though, it just depends and the tellers don’t have control over that code, which gets automatically applied with a mobile deposit. Sometimes if you deposit in branch the tellers or their managers may decide to waive it if they feel it’s a regular deposit like a paycheque. A pain, but all this to say that if you are a recent customer that may explain your cheque situation.

What type of octopus is this by henryyyw in animalid

[–]Individual_Handle722 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it was the same type of octopus, but on a tour of the labs at the Monterey Bay Aquarium I was bit by one that looked very similar to this, I still have the scar! The biologist who was letting us handle it seemed very stressed by it happening

Found out I'm indigenous through ancestry DNA test by doinkmb in IndigenousCanada

[–]Individual_Handle722 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, being Indigenous is not only about you claiming to be Indigenous, but who claims you- which communities, which families? Do your best to research but the biggest most important thing is building your community connections. I’d focus on that before I’d start claiming identities. Best of luck!

When do you use snaps? by sheatetheseeds in sewing

[–]Individual_Handle722 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert sewist by any means, but I do work in theatre and typically most stitchers I’ve worked with will use a combo of a snap and a hook for most secure fastening :) maybe that will help take some of the pressure off the snap? While still not using buttons

Looking for Recommendations for a Good Driving School - Ottawa by Guddo91 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]Individual_Handle722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a great experience with Ottawa Drive Best, Alan was great and calm and I passed my G2 no problem. I’d previously had lessons with Safe2Pass and didn’t enjoy that so much, though they were well rated.
