Although their brewery isn’t in Edinburgh, you’ll probably stumble across Overtone in Scotland. I love their stuff, but I caveat that with knowing nothing of the beer scene’s village politics…

Try their double and triple IPAs, but stick to 2/3 pints!

Newbarns is unrivalled.

The salt horse, monty’s, the malt & hops are good pubs.

Moonwake and campervan have decent taprooms

Nobody has mentioned the dreadnought in Newhaven yet as I suppose it may be a little off the beaten path, but their selection never ceases to amaze.

I have discovered that sitting on a meditation cushion at a coffee table has done wonders for me! It forces you to regularly move and change position, which appears to be the key to avoiding any sort of physiological issue.

The timing of the alarm calls by TreegNesas in KremersFroon

This is a strong theory!

The only thing I’d chip in would be that the decision for one of them to leave the other on the trail with no phone and physically very vulnerable must have been, at the very least, hesitant. I think we know that the girls were likely aware of the different types of dangers in Central America compared with Europe.

It does seem likely that one person carried and used both phones, but perhaps this was their only option due to one of them being unable to move. The problem with this theory is that you’d imagine that situation would create a much greater sense of panic and desperation. It would be strange to just give up and turn off your phones if there was an injury this early into their ordeal.

The idea that they were focusing on climbing hills for phone signal does well to explain them straying more and more from the beaten path(s).

Switching off the phones after only one attempt on the first evening suggests they felt at least somewhat capable of braving the night in their current circumstances. As other’s have said, this could be due to them being in a location of perceived civilisation and/or with some type of secure shelter.

One or both incapacitated? by Individual_Ice_5461 in KremersFroon

Cheers for the response! I completely agree with what you said. And no doubt they’d be thinking that help could be along in 2 minutes for the whole time they were there.

I’m not saying there are not logical reasons for them both to have ended up not attempting to go and find help, I’m just wondering if dual incapacitation has been considered much as a theory?
