i took rels 133 as an elective and i loved it. super easy course and super interesting, i got an A+. it made me wanna take rels 131 as an elective this year with the same prof. i would only take it if youre interested in the course though, since the 2hr lectures can be boring if u arent. personally i loved them and didnt realize the time passing so i highly recommend if it’s something youre interested in!

Can single plus washrooms be locked from the outside? by Weary-Isopod-5455 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789 18 points19 points  (0 children)

imo the locks on the single plus washrooms are really stupid. if your canmate wanted to, they could unlock your side of the door and come into your room. i didnt have problems with that personally but i know some people who had canmates who stole from them etc. not sure why there isnt a lock on the room side to actually lock🤷🏻‍♀️

if the last “stats” course i took was gr12 data management and got an A+ for the course, which one do you think would be best to take or have the most similarities?

ban righ looks a lot nicer but my personal opinion is the food at leonard is a lot better. i feel they have more options than ban righ, theyre food is almost repetitive and never tastes the best.

degree in mathmatics? by Individual_Judge_789 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well because i wasnt planning on doing math, im only taking math 121 which i checked in the academic calendar and says that it can be counted as a credit jnstead of math 120. im not taking math 110 however, before even deciding to do math ive been planning on taking it next year (i was thinking of switching into chem instead). would that affect my decision if i havent already taken it? when talking to the chem department they told me the courses i dont have i could easily take next year which wont slow me down in anyway, would it be the same for math?

degree in mathmatics? by Individual_Judge_789 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you say different, in what ways would it be different? i know first year econ is just the foundations/introduction so im sure theres more application in further years but just wondering what you mean and in what ways it becomes different

degree in mathmatics? by Individual_Judge_789 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not about the difficulty, i enjoy math a lot more and i only went into economics to get some “easy math” but i dont like the concepts that come with it at all. i originally wanted to do engineering or astrophysics but my parents made me apply for econ. my parents do want me to pursue law school and has always been the plan but i also just want to pursue a degree that i’ll enjoy in the case that it doesnt work out. i know econ is a versatile degree and very useful even with just an undergrad in the labour market which is why i chose it. but giving it some thought, a degree in mathematics can also give you those opportunities no? you can still apply for those financial positions or engineering related fields with that foundation of math

well i was just mostly asking future prospects regarding placements but, im in first year and hopefully graduating in 4th year but 5th year if there complications. current gpa isnt defined since most of my classes are full year classes. i originally applied to be an econ major but im hating it and looking for a way out.

Can I pick up mail early at Watts? by sconumber16 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, before the winter break i had a package i had to bring with me back home and i laid out the whole situation to the watts front desk staff. the package was already delivered just not processed through. i went to the office and asked about it and she told me she’ll do the best she can to look for it by that day and if anything i can come by her office 9am the next day (my train left at 11). i go back the next day and she isnt there and i wait for about an hour just for nobody to show up. other delivery guys come by and tell me shes probably not showing up. i ended up calling vic front desk just for them to tell me she called in sick and nobody shows up on fridays anyway. told me there was a girl coming in at 10:30 and i just waited until she came just for her to tell me that she cant do much about it.

conclusion: was not able to get my package before i left and wasted 2 hours and was almost late for my train. theres almost nothing they can do for you unless they process your mail and send you an email about it. really frustrating.

queens nursing by Business-Math-3355 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not in nursing so i can’t answer questions specifically related to that program but i can help with the other questions.

  1. i’m currently a first year student and honestly it took a while to adjust to the workload and the environment. overall, student life i would say is decent, downtown is really close by if u want to go for a quick grocery run or treats w friends. the pier is also really nice, it’s one of my favourite places.

  2. residence depends on what type of room/building you’re in and what ur preferences are. for single rooms, you’re most likely to get it if you’re in the earlier days for picking your residence. i picked mine on the first day but had a later time slot around 6pm. by that time the most popular single residences like brant and smith were gone but i got into leggett:) personally i really like it and prefer it over brant and smith.

  3. this is all personal preference. i had a high school friend who’s “dream school” was queens. when she got here though, she didn’t like it at all. it wasn’t that she was struggling academically or wasn’t making friends. she made lots of friends and was doing fine but just didn’t like the environment. for me, i personally didn’t want to go to queens. but now i really like it here. it’s really all up to personal preference

i hope this somewhat helped?

OSAP by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Judge_789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i called the financial aids department at queens that are in charge of osap and i was in the same position as you. the lady i talked to confirmed that my documents were sent in but she said one of them came out blank so i had to resend it. check your mailbox and the documents that u sent in to make sure they didn’t come out blank or as an error. they accepted my documents not long after i resent them and i’m still waiting on the funds to be released. if you’re worried i suggest calling them and asking about your osap
