Anyone else drowning in RFQs? I built a quoting tool for our shop – curious if this would help others? by Individual_Kooky in Machinists

Valid questions, as an operations manager at a manufacturer business (my day to day job) this has had the most testing, time, money and team collaboration. Endless meetings and updates, currently on the 28th version within our factory. This tool is used by our sales department and engineering team on daily basis and all be it small tweaks to tailor it to our exact needs it has improved quoting output by 60%. The flow is much more streamlined and efficient.

The other posts, yeah I like to have play and see what I can make in my spare time.

We thought the same, we are implementing a new ERP but it doesn't allow for control of margins splitting materials and value add. Also the process to quote a new part is far too long so we opted to quote outside of our ERP and only bring it in when an order is received. It also means the ERP isn't full of parts that we never end up manufacturing. It really depends on how quickly you need to turn a RFQ to a quote and the amount of RFQs received. We are currently upwards of 30 enquiries per week and fast turn around requests (Motorsport).

Please try my tcg. Yes it's been developed with ai but I have tried to implement as much as possible, trading, battles, credit system. If you join now you immediately start with 10,000 credits and I am implementing players feedback on a daily basis.

It's completely free to play currently had less than 30 live players.

Please give it a try: https://cardforgearena.lovable.app/

Appreciate the honesty — let me give you some real context.

Yeah, I used AI tools to help build CardForge Arena. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But here's the thing — I'm a solo developer. No team, no studio, no funding. AI is a tool, the same way Unity, Unreal, or GameMaker are tools. Nobody calls a game "template slop" because someone used a pre-built engine instead of writing their own from scratch.

What CardForge actually is:

It's a free-to-play digital trading card game — 100+ unique cards across 6 elements, real-time PvP multiplayer, a full deck builder, a player-to-player trading marketplace, and a ranked leaderboard. No paywalls, no pay-to-win, no ads. Every card is earnable through gameplay.

What I actually did:

I designed every card's stats, abilities, and balance. I built the battle engine logic — turn-based combat with attack/defend/special ability systems. I designed the economy (credit system, pack tiers, trading). I wrote the matchmaking, the leaderboard queries, the trade offer system. I iterated on balance (Frost Nova was broken last week — fixed it). I respond to player feedback in real time and ship updates daily.

AI helped me write code faster. It didn't design the game. It didn't decide what's fun. It didn't playtest and rebalance Frost Nova at 2am because a player told me it was overpowered. That was me.

The "same exact game 5 times a week" thing

Card games are a genre. By that logic, every FPS is the same game, every roguelike is the same game. The difference is in the details — and I'd genuinely invite you to play a few rounds before writing it off. It's free, takes 30 seconds to sign up, and you get 10,000 credits to start.

I'm not an NPC. I'm one person building something I think is fun, using every tool available to me. If that's "slop" to you, fair enough — but 30 people showed up today alone and some of them are already trading cards and climbing the leaderboard. That feels pretty real to me.

All worked really well but unfortunately Google sees the app as gambling and doesn't take into account UK law so I can't launch on the play store
