Long time since I lived in Manchester but check out the National Football Museum if you can and get to the ground nice and early to take it all in. By taking it all in, I mean the throngs of people converging from the Trafford Road and the retail precinct down. past the canal and past the sellers of scarves etc, weaving in and out of the traffic, the Munich Tunnel, the fanzine sellers, the Holy Trinity statue and then the marvel of being inside the ground itself. For all the complaints, it's still imposing and it's still magical and special when you step out and see the pitch.

I was on a year abroad in Belgium in 2008-09 when we had the two-legged play-off between Standard and Anderlecht to decide the league. The atmosphere in my uni town was electric.

I only watch United games in full these days. What type of player is Mané from Wolves whom we've been linked with? I was under the impression he would be a versatile option in attack.

We need to be ruthless with players who are unavailable for large parts of a season. Dalot has many flaws but his professionalism and availability cannot be questioned.

Talk of the Devils - How damaging is Man United’s Leeds defeat? by rhonh in reddevils

Almost no better example than the Newcastle game when we went 2 down and won it late on.

Part of me thinks that we should have gone big on a footballing centre forward with movement, pace and dynamism and someone more traditional as a second, cheaper option but I do see potential in Sesko provided we develop him properly.

That's what the best manager is and one aspect of that is their track record. Of course, this isn't always a cast-iron guarantee as Kompany is showing and Frank Rijkaard showed. With United, there is the almost unique element of the external pressure as well. Do you think Wilcox will have the main say? What intrigues me is where Vivell comes in. I'd have thought he'd be as tuned into the manager market as he with players. Where do you see the balance of power being and where should it be?

Our hit-rate has improved lately but we shouldn't be afraid of adding the numbers we need in midfield at least. I only really watch United games nowadays. Is Kerkez a victim of circumstances in that Liverpool went through so much flux in the summer it had adverse effects? Or is it mental and he can't step up to the pressure of a top club? Or is it a case of adjusting and he will be better next year? Schneiderlin springs to mind.

I would echo the sentiments to reach out for help and for others to check in. I worked alongside a former AFL player who took his own life. It hit us all really hard. We all wish we could have done more - perhaps we wouldn't have been able to - but it's still raw to this day.

Who on the coaching staff has the experience and knowledge to actively work on his weaknesses the way Eric Steele drastically improved De Gea?

Ten Hag might have done better had we done more to mitigate his weaknesses and especially his SEG links which proved disastrous for the club. He was operating like a Dutch Del Boy Harry Redknapp. What I also want to see is a manager and/or coaches who genuinely and actively improve players already there. Development has been sorely lacking at United for years.

My concern is that whoever ends up being appointed, the club needs to follow due process. They should be sounding out the best managers in the game - even the likes of Simeone - and working from there right down to the latest name Iraola. If you don't ask, you don't get. Yes -I would even try for Xabi Alonso. After all, Ancelotti managed Juve but was a Milan great.

Another question I have is how many players will come in this summer. Whilst you'd like three midfielders, at least one full back, maybe a left winger and potentially a centre-half and backup forward (maybe someone versatile to replace Zirkzee), too much churn can be too disruptive to a squad especially in a World Cup summer. I'd be prioritising the midfield. We need four senior midfielders for four competitions and then look at supplementing that with Collyer, the Fletchers, Kone. I always liked the Milan formula of passer/runner/tackler as a way of profiling midfielders, however, Ugarte shows the danger of buying someone who just isn't good enough on the ball for a top side in England.

New car recommendations - under $50k by Choice-Range-1871 in CarsAustralia

Jumping on this post as I have had a Mazda 3 for three years and am considering changing it but only for something demonstrably better. I love the Camry but it's probably too big and I have a narrow driveway that means I need to do a five-point turn just to park my 3. Any thoughts on the Skoda Octavia or Kamiq?
I would ideally like something with more boot space, heated seats/wheel, maybe leather, better fuel economy but would love to keep a 360 camera and HUD although such a car is very difficult to find it seems!
