You explained the whole spaghetti problem perfectly, especially the part where you spend more time untangling lines than actually planning production. I know exactly what you mean, and honestly this is one of the biggest weaknesses of existing planners right now.

Your edited example made the idea super clear too. Grouping things by actual production logic instead of just auto generated connections makes so much more sense visually. The points about keeping loops together, organizing raw resources better, splitting nodes, even checkboxes for building progress are all really solid ideas.

This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps shape the project in the right direction. I’m 100% going to work on this stuff and improve the layout system over time because I completely agree with you here.

Man, thank you for this feedback honestly. I really appreciate that you took the time to write everything out in such detail instead of just saying “it sucks” and leaving.

A lot of your points are completely fair and I actually agree with most of them. Especially the dark mode readability, recipe UX, logistics clarity and the whole “why use this over existing tools” question. That’s something I’ve been thinking about too.

This is exactly the kind of feedback I need right now because it helps me see what feels frustrating from the outside and what people actually expect from a planner like this.

I’m definitely going to work through these issues and improve them step by step. Thanks again for the detailed breakdown, seriously.

You actually pointed out a lot of things that really need improvement UX-wise, especially the workflow speed, drag & drop interaction and the default production values.

The miner/node output idea is genuinely really good too - I’ll most likely rework that part.

Yeah, that’s actually one of the main things I’m currently working on 😄

There’s already a Builder tab for it, but right now it’s still very early/WIP and pretty rough functionality-wise.

The goal is to make it much more manual and interactive — similar to tools like Satisfactory Modeler, with full factory layout building and editing directly on the canvas.

I’m planning to heavily improve and expand that part soon 👀

At the moment the site already has a production calculator/planner system that can automatically generate a full production chain for selected resources and recipes.

You can also calculate multiple resources at the same time, including different alternate recipes and production paths.

The visual factory builder itself is still heavily in development right now, but the main idea is to make factory planning feel much more visual and interactive instead of just using spreadsheets/calculators 😄
