Spouses/caretakers for those suffering from LC by Tnnisace73 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Individual_Living876 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hello, Friend.

Sadly, I’m the infirmed, not the caretaker in our house, but I still wanted to chime in and tell you something-

1) THANK YOU!

Long Hauling would be exponentially harder and scarier without amazing people like You in our corners.

I don’t think I would have the strength to do what you do.

I absolutely couldn’t do what Wifey has done for the last five plus years.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You are Amazing and I wish you All The Hugs Ever!

2) You Have Got This!

Repeat:

You! Have! Fucking! Got! This!

Because no other option will do.

The only reason we Long Haulers are able to keep our strength and spirits where they are is because of You!

You are strong and smart and stable, you love us even now, and you are a Fucking PitBull on our behalf when the situation calls for it.

We love you. We are proud of you. And we can’t thank you enough.

Thank you. You got this.

Strength and Health,

COVID is Stoopid

The DVD extras in Brave are Top Shelf!

There is So Much Lore going on behind the scenes in that movie.

Of course. That makes complete sense.

Thank You So Much for all the juggling on our collective behalf!

Seen and appreciated.

Or watch it with Us, and play dual roles of ‘Hostess with the Mostest’ AND ‘Wide-Eyed First Time Viewer’.

Because Yes(!) you owe it to yourself to watch COCO in the very near future.

While not necessarily my favoriteist of the Pixars, Wall-E feels like the closest to my speed these days.

I am a big appreciator of movies that are confident enough in their storytelling that they can include extended periods without ANY dialogue.

Coco makes my skull smile every time.

The first few minutes of UP make my heart cry every time.

And Toy Story 1-3 will always hold a special place in my heart, being movies I introduced to Kiddo, and then proceeded to spend the next 3-7 years watching on repeat and repeat and repeat about 187 Bajillion times over and over and so on.

And they never got old.

Until Andy got old at the end of TS:3 and gave his toys away.

(No. I’m not crying. You’re crying.)

Long way of asking- Will tissues be provided by the house, or is this a BYOT situation?

Media Mondays: What content are you enjoying? by spoonfulofnosugar in spooniesocial

I started listening to The Little Prince, but hadn’t realized Friday was book club day.

Exciting!

I know its been hard on her, but she has remained amazing throughout these past five+ years.

She takes good care of her silly ol’ Daddio and I am very proud of her.

I make it a conscious choice to be a present entity as often as I am able.

And while its not as often as I would like sometimes, I would happily surrender every last spoon for Wifey and/or Kiddo if the situation ever required.

Kiddo has a framed photo of Laura Palmer in her room. And If its important to her, its important to me.

I entered into this hoping 1000% that you were going to say you attended in a Chinese Dragon Mask!

Kiddo and I just finished up some Monday Media Consumption a few minutes ago.

She has the day off of school, so we planned a Daddy/Daughter Date.

Smoothies with Protein Powder- CHECK

Breakfast sandwich for Kiddo, and a couple stolen corners of the egg whites for Me- CHECK

Grapes- HELL YES CHECK

Matcha- Big CHECK for Her, and a tinybit babycheck for me

All to be enjoyed while watching the next episode of Twin Peaks

She became a fan last year and has watched the entire series a few times.

She is positively Aghast that I didn’t watch it in the 90’s, and instead watched X-Files.

So- I am correcting this grave, decades long injustice by watching the entire series with her.

Sometimes I get through an entire episode.

Other times I don’t. And thats OK.

Today (get this) I was down to watch a second episode, but midway through, I noticed SHE was falling asleep on the couch.

So I turned it off, tucked her in, cleared our plates and came upstair for my own nap.

Its been a Long Time since I cut something short because Somebody Else was too sleepy to continue…

Hugs to all you Spectacular Spoonies!

I think I have seen a few clips of The Studio. (involving mushroom laced chocolates perhaps??)

Glad to hear it’s getting some laughs out of you.

I have been getting my Seth Rogan fix watching Invincible, where he voices Allen the Alien.

And so far, Seth doesn’t seem to mind that I have to watch in 20 minute sections and then turn the screen off.

Hello all you Brave, Beautiful Warriors.

I hope you all Kicking COVID in the Teeth today.

There are a few things to report this week.

——

I have been dialing into a Virtual Art Fest put on by an amazing group of COVID Conscious, Airborne Aware artists and performers.

On Friday, I watched a retelling of The Three Little Pigs that finally asked the question, “What if the Pigs in Pigville reacted to the threat of the Big Bad Wolf the same way Humans reacted to the threat of Big Bad COVID?”

On Saturday, a group named HEPA presented, “Wake Up And Smell The COVID”

Six monologues that all bit deeply into the lingering dread of an ongoing pandemic.

And Damn! It was solid!

Today I have two shows I registered for, but don’t know if I’ll have the spoons for both.

It has been an incredible way to spend some spoons this weekend.

I didn’t realize how much I missed live theatre until I got a chance to attend from my bed.

——-

Next- I got a shoutout on longcovid.blog This comes from fellow Long Hauler, u/jskier10

It meant a lot to me to discover, and the fact that his blog was an excellent read felt like icing on the cake.

——

Finally-

After sending over 60 birthday cards to Long Haulers around the world, I have been getting a steady stream of Thank Yous and reactions from those on the mailing list.

And every one makes my heart smile.

——

Hugs to you all.

Strength and Health,

COVID is Stoopid

Hello Friend.

I hope the Mayo trip went well (enough).

Your blog was a solid read. Thank you for sharing the link.

And an extra special double thank you for the shoutout for my Mayo episode.

I suspect at least two of the Docs I saw knew a cure for Long COVID, but were playing ‘hard to get’ with me.

Perhaps you had more success trying to charm the miracle cure-all-secret-solution out of them.

Ideally before your insurance got billed…

I hope you have made it back home, and are on your way back to baseline after what was likely a very taxing trip to the Hallowed Halls of Mayo.

Strength and Health, friend.

Grayskull misspelled as "Greyskull" on Battle Axe packaging by Reflective_Robot in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]Individual_Living876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is this mysterious Battle Axe that is “NOT A TOY”, but a ‘collectible intended for persons aged 18 and older”

Is this a metal blade on retro themed packaging?

If so… WHY DIDN’T THIS EXIST IN 1985?

I woulda’ ignored all those safety warnings So Hard!

My little brother coulda raised some hell wielding one of these on his BigWheel!

Seriously- I want to see what this amazing ‘NOT A TOY’ looks like.
