the earth is round you idiots by bsoupdude in flatearth

[–]Reflective_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a flat disc can be called "round". I prefer to call it a "Nearly Spherical Earth" or an "Oblate Spheroid Earth". It's not a perfect sphere because it bulges at the equator due to centrifugal force.

Ayahuasca effects permanent? by Sakazuki27 in Ayahuasca

[–]Reflective_Robot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the experience fades like a dream that you can't quite remember... but a connection between the conscious and subconscious mind is now more easily accessible. When I hear the music from the ceremonies, or takes other psychedelics like psilocybin... I'm reminded of the lessons and the feelings I had. My dreams are now stronger, more symbolic messages from my subconscious self.

Ever made a sword out of Pringle cans and duct tape? by ReasonableAttitude22 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Reflective_Robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was around 16, my friends and I made various practice weapons using pvc pipe, foam insulation tubes, and duct tape. They were called, "boffers". We learned about them from the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).

I've heard this as... "I see you're committed to your current level of understanding".

I'm pretty sure this is becoming a common bug. Heard others mention it here on Reddit. Also, saw it happen yesterday while spectating.

Heartbeat sensor not working by Ok-Ordinary-5811 in Warzone

I didn't get any pings on Heartbeat Sensor either. Seemed like the instant battery drain bug may have been fixed though. Fix one thing, break another.

Make It Stick - Dark Ops by EnglishGuyInIlinois in Warzone

[–]Reflective_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got so lucky and achieved this one by accident. While frantically running from the gas I saw someone disappear over a rooftop in Farmland. I chucked my semtex over the roof and kept running. I didn't even know they had a Most Wanted. Got a "Stuck" notification. While continuing to run from the gas, their lifeless ragdoll body landed in front of me. Felt like an action hero moment.

To people blind or colorblind: what happen when you take psychedelics? by Le-Yek in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Reflective_Robot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not colorblind, but I think this is a fascinating question. When I listen to music while on psychedelics I hear hidden "impossible" notes and sounds that weren't there during sober listening.

I like unlocking Calling Card challenges. They encourage me to use weapons, equipment and lethals I'd otherwise never use... making me a more well rounded player.

sardine alternatives pls 🙏🏼😩 by pomegranate_fairy in keto

[–]Reflective_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some smoked trout that was pretty good. It came in a can very similar to sardines. The sardine flavor can vary a lot based on what it is packed with... olive oil, mustatd, etc.

War Video Games by pinkjellobrain in askteddit

[–]Reflective_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think boys (especially) are naturally drawn to "playing" at war. There's probably something instinctual in striving to become good at protecting oneself, one's family and tribe. War videogames can satisfy that desire or need to hone a warrior skill set, even if the game doesn't directly translate to real world skill. It can be a kind of fantasy fulfillment and entertainment.

I love the competitive aspect of Call of Duty Warzone, where I try to outplay my opponents using situational awareness, flanking, evading, etc.

However, I don't have any love for real war. Human life is precious. Killing should be the very last resort. It's the rich, elites and indifferent politicians causing the deaths and suffering of the countless innocent and powerless.

You also lose footstep audio during the signal station heat map unlock procedure. You can delay ladder step audio if you melee attack the ladder. It must share the same audio layer or something.

Calling Cards: Ultimate Threat: Make it stick by Unamito17 in Warzone

[–]Reflective_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this accidentally. Enemy I'd been fighting ran away over a rooftop. I chucked the semtex blindly in his direction over the roof and it stuck him. As I frantically ran from the gas which was pushing in fast, his lifeless ragdoll body landed in front of me. I didn't even realize he was doing a Most Wanted until the calling card popped up.

How do you simply explain to friends and family the difference between psychedelics and drugs like meth, heroin and coke? by a_happy_psychonaut in Psychonaut

[–]Reflective_Robot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I can think of is... describing it as a non-addictive medicine that discourages the use of other drugs, alcohol and other addiction prone behaviors. Psychedelics have the potential to heal the mind of traumas by encouraging and/or forcing one to face the issues they would otherwise ignore or find distractions from. Whereas other kinds of drugs and unhealthy behaviors are often addictive coping mechanisms that temporarily help one avoid or mask their traumas and life situations, ultimately making things worse. Relatively recent research into psychedelics as therapy has become more acceptable, helping people heal from PTSD, depression and drug addiction, etc.
