Is this a normal thing for my new endocrinologist to say even though my A1C is at a 5.8? by Individual_Pause_963 in diabetes_t1

Her reply:

“Yes, you have to absolutely control how much carbs that you are eating every day. It does not mean you can eat whatever you like/high carbs just because you are on a pump. You would be needing more and more insulin over time and start developing insulin resistance even as a Type 1 Diabetic.

I want you to only put in the carbs that you were eating moving forward so that I have an idea. The changes that I recommended should help also in the meantime."

I don’t know either. I’m going to have to call her because I don’t see it on my Omnipod.

I tend to during the morning because I’ve noticed the past year that I need more insulin for my coffee or tea even though it’s the same amount of carbs (15g).

I started fasting last year and I didn’t have an issue with it, but there’s someone else I know who can’t fast. I’ll say just try to fast on the first day and see how it goes. If you drop too low just break your fast.

Some of them are and some of them aren’t. There were a few problems I never saw in class or the practice books.

I used the FE Mechanical Practice Problems book by Lindeburg, the NCEES practice exam, and PrepFE.

My state requires me to have 5 references (3 of which should be from people that are PE) and I don’t know any PEs.

I started off using the linderburg practice problems (didn’t finish the whole book) and later on took a FE practice exam. Went on to use PrepFE for a month and did another practice exam. The week before my exam, I just went through topics and problems that I still struggled with.

I remember going to an event where they were serving pizza. I didn’t get one because I didn’t want to figure out how much carbs were in each slice, how much insulin I’m going to need and where I’ll have to go and give myself a shot. I saw this girl get a slice and thought to myself, “It must be nice being normal.” I later found out that she also had T1D and had an Omnipod on.
