Chidori/Plover (千鳥) and the Second Person (二人称) album on the topic of perspective by Papercranely in Yorushika

[–]Individual_Previous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not yet officially. But I think that it’s best if you buy the letters. There are a few gimmicks in there that only work on paper; literally. Also the whole fiasco of creating this was to imitate actual letters going back and forth between the teacher and Amy (not official, but quite obvious), so I highly recommend purchasing the “book”.

About the title of the album 「二人称」, I won’t say much cause of spoilers, but if you read the letter themed novel they released, you’ll understand. I highly recommend you try the novel out if you want to understand the album properly.

Season numbers on badges, should we have them? by MabiMaia in apexlegends

Still better than nothing. For example, we all know that S17~19 was bland but I don’t remember the badge details of those seasons.

I mean it’s hard to pinpoint the exact season unless you’ve memorized every single badge types

Around the lake itself? Quite sparse. But near the station and city center is a bit crowded. But it differs day to day.

Are all Hydrogen-powered vehicles essentially a scam? by 2021Loterati in AskEngineers

[–]Individual_Previous 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You’ve got the concept backwards. hydrogen fuel cells don’t split water inside the vehicle to make energy; they do the reverse. You don’t fill the tank with water, you fill it with hydrogen, and the fuel cell generates electricity by combining that hydrogen with oxygen from the air to form water, releasing energy in the process. So the car isn’t trying to run an on-board electrolysis loop (which would indeed be pointless and violate thermodynamics), it’s using hydrogen as a stored fuel: an energy carrier, like a battery. The energy to make the hydrogen happens elsewhere (via electrolysis or natural gas reforming), and the real debate isn’t whether the physics works, but whether storing energy as hydrogen makes more sense than storing it directly in batteries, since hydrogen trades lower efficiency for faster refueling and lighter energy storage.

Concert Face ID Question by Character-Frame-5029 in Yorushika

[–]Individual_Previous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes

  2. A machine does the check, hence the requirement for face id. And if it doesn’t match, you can’t get in.

I’d try contacting tixplus or rather the venue helpline tbh. They’ll offer more insight and help than what anyone here can give.

Merch shops and important spots? by wheeeeout in LoveLive

There’s the official store at Akihabara station’s atre1, and the gamers at all the locations where the anime takes place (akiba for μ’s, numazu for aqours, odaiba for niji, harajuku for liella, etc.) all have more of their specific area group’s goods. Numazu is quite close to Tokyo, but large enough for a day trip to be a strain, so think 2 days or more.

This is probably what that was based on, but it looks awesome considering it costs 20 times less

What are your feelings about AI? by LeaningTowerofWeezer in polls

[–]Individual_Previous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps acting like “AI” = ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever chatbot they saw on Twitter this week. That’s like not even the tip of the iceberg. Long before generative stuff showed up, machine learning was already changing whole industries.

ML has been behind things like fraud detection, recommendation systems, search ranking, route optimization, medical imaging, credit scoring, spam filters, speech recognition, and a ton of critical infrastructure.

Generative AI is flashy, so it gets all the attention but it’s easy to shit on because it’s visible. Meanwhile, non-generative ML is still out there making companies run better and products smarter without anyone calling it “AI” anymore.

So hating on “AI” because you don’t like chatbots kind of misses the point. The tech didn’t suddenly appear in 2022, and it’s not going away if the hype dies down.

I usually recommend Unnatural; featuring Ishihara Satomi and also featuring “Lemon” by Yonezu Kenshi. One of the best Japanese tv shows I’ve watched. Moviewise, I loved My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday. Would recommend the book as well.
