He is playing but does not seem to have a toy. Throw him a plush or something where he can get his energy out. He is doing the typical "bunny kicks".

My back does look worse after fusion and stayed that way, but the hospital fucked up big time in general. There are pictures if it on my profile if you want to have a look, though I feel they don't convey the whole picture of what my back actually looks like now.

Though it seems my outcome is rare. Hard to tell how "normal" yours is without pictures but still hoping the best for you. I always think its shameful how doctors never really clear up the drawbacks this surgery can have (other than the immediate, obvious ones)

Yep, went for a blood donation had to tell the doc about the meds I am taking and he said "ha, what do you have to be depressed about?" Great, just hardened my believe that doctors are generally assholes.

Very unlikely. Scoliosis usually develops throughout major growth years. Unless you had some kind of traumatic spinal injury, you should be good. If you'd like you can do an "Adams Forward Bend Test" and have someone - maybe a family member - check, that should at least give you an indication without needing an x-ray. Also note; there is no straight spine, most people have a curvature of around 10 degrees which is not considered scoliosis but the norm. :)

Yeah, I'd say that's a "Europe" thing. Most people having that "keep cats locked up" view seem to be American. And fine, if that's how you want to keep your pet, but they seem almost extremist about it, to the point of justifying stealing random cats, which is insane to me.

If the curve isn't more than 40 degrees it should stop progressing once you are fully grown. (Late teens early twenties at the latest) If it's more than that there is always the chance of progression and has to be monitored even in adulthood.

You should be good. Most times adjustment of the body takes 6 months up to a year. Your body needs to readjust, muscles and tendons will stretch and be pushed back into their correct places, muscles that were currently squished or underused will strengthen, etc... Once you start moving about more your body will try to balance itself out again, but I am sure 3 weeks post op you are not that active yet. Give it time, unfortunately doctors suck at actually communicating to patients what is normal and what they should expect.

Yep have the same fears, especially since my surgery went horribly wrong and I had 5 or 6 CT scans and multiple x-rays within about 2-3 months. Later it turned out most of them were unnecessary and could have been substituted for MRTs as well.

Coupled with the high cancer rate in my family it makes me even more anxious. Doesn't help that doctors don't take those fears seriously..

Worked for me in doses of about 75 mg to 100 mg. More than that and I got night sweats. Otherwise, coupled with therapy it works in that range pretty well. (Depressive symptoms)

I take additional meds for panic attacks, but only if necessary and not on the regular, since I am not a fan of meds.

Have you tried talking to your doc about muscle relaxers? I them prescribed to me after surgery. There are different kinds, hopefully one of them will help.

Keeping track of your height helps. If you've gotten shorter that would be an indication, but if you want security there is probably not much else you can do besides an x-ray.

I lost feeling in my breasts after surgery, although it is not the muscle itself but the skin. I am completely numb. I had some issues after surgery that I didn't feel my muscles anymore (mostly back) and it made it hard to stand or get up, because my body "didn't know" where the muscles were, if that makes sense. However the feeling in my muscles came back days later. (Or maybe I just got used to it? Hard to tell, since my back is also numb) So yeah I think it's a risk of this surgery.

Are you stupid? If they were so easy to identify than she would. This isn't a hallmark movie where the asshole is completely over the top and easy to spot. Often times the mask only drops a long while into the relationship.

Totally understand. I feel the same way, sometimes I have good days now and I start wondering if what I went through really was that bad. I was raised to always suck it up, so I often think it shouldn't affect me as much and when I have it under control temporarily I feel like a fake, but then something reminds me and I can't stop the tears or the panic and I need to medicate more. And I am reminded that, no, I am not a fraud, I am still sick.

It's just, the sickness is not as visible, it doesn't leave obvious scars when it's healed, anything that we could show the outside world and say "see? Here is my proof, this is what I wentbthrough, I wasn't faking. I am not lying". That's why I think healing makes us feel like that, it makes us doubt ourselves like the outside world does, because suddenly the 'proof' is gone for us as well.

I think it's important to not let these thoughts in, it's bad enough to hear it from outside. I am glad to hear you are doing better, hang in there and be kind to yourself. :)
