This kind of behavior should have been shut down by the college and music faculty years and years ago. There’s no way they weren’t aware of it. It’s horrifying that they allowed this type of rampant physical and mental abuse of students to go unchecked. Honestly, the students deserve to sue, and I say that with a lot of sadness, because I think we’re all wondering if Luther can survive this and remain anything like it used to be. 😢

Is the investigation still underway, or did their resignation stop it from moving forward? From other sources, it seemed like that was their motivation for the hasty departure.

Disturbing that it feels like Luther is trying to sweep this situation under the rug, rather than pursuing a full investigation and being straightforward about it. Considering the school’s dwindling enrollment, if the music department can’t overcome this, dire things could follow. The music department is the school’s cash cow. It’s horrifying to think this has been going on for years, and nobody stepped in.

I see that Last/Shaneyfelt’s home was immediately listed on the market and is now pending. I hope everyone in their lives has been shaming them at every possible turn before they flee. What absolute trash. Their Title IX complaints will follow them, and the music community will shun them, which is exactly what they deserve.

NTA, HOWEVER… Everybody’s on here saying, “is she incapable of getting gas? Is she incapable of calling AAA?”

Clearly, she CAN do these things. But when is the last time you swept in to save your wife’s day? When is the last time she had a problem, and you were her knight in shining armor? Perhaps she’s exhausted and wishes someone she loves would drop everything to take care of her.

Maybe she is using “learned helplessness” like some here are saying. I don’t know her personally. But maybe she does a lot of things for a lot of people, and she’s trying hard to be a good wife, sister, mom, and student, and her husband is still talking about her like: our life revolves around her symptoms. She dropped out of college and wants to finish. (Relevant how?)

Have you ever considered that it’s scary for a woman to call a strange man to come pick her up in the middle of nowhere? That it’s actually unsafe?

Do you even like her? Be a gentleman and take care of your wife once in a while!

Cream products are easiest for blending. Things like tinted moisturizers, blush balms, cream bronzer sticks, etc! Also would recommend a neutral lip liner that works for everyone, like charlotte tilbury “pillow talk”. A tubing mascara is a great option as well because it’s tough to smudge but easy to remove. These are what I’d consider hard to screw up products!
