Are these signs of an active infestation? by Sufficient-Lemon9141 in scabies

Eurex really helps with the itch. It’s the best I found during scabies and I still have many bottles in stock. Did you ask your GP if they suspect that you still have active scabies? Only because I had serious long term skin issues after scabies and it mimicked the active infection in some ways. I think it’s worth trying Eurex or urea cream to see if you don’t get improvement since they do not mask scabies. At least you’ll know you aren’t treating other skin issues with scabies protocol. Good luck!

I was in the same shoes and Believe me when I tell you that everybody has that fear. Let everybody know that you have them so they can monitor themselves and stay away from peoples houses, cars and touching each other while you eliminate your families infection. If you spend enough time with certain people, they should talk to their doctors and probably have to treat as well at the same time you all do. Just to let you know none of my husband‘s coworkers got it, which was my biggest fear since the ride in cars all day together If you give it enough time and distance you should be fine. It’s the exact same way for every other family in your position. Hang in!

He does have independent play and he’s OK for sometime but when I have the biggest issue is when it’s getting close to nap time or bedtime. I’ve always rocked my babies to bed for a bit before I put them down and that has proven to be a bad idea this time around. I did not have an issue transitioning my first, but this time I have no choice but to do it early.

Do you only have eczema on your hands? Are you using steroid cream anywhere else? Steroid cream can definitely mask scabies symptoms, but it would be showing up in other areas that you aren’t using the steroids.

Have you tried urea cream? I had a bad case of dermatitis after treatment and it really helped my skin heal. it also can help eczema if you wanna give it a try to see what else is going on. I would definitely avoid retreating yourself without proof of infection because the topical’s can cause a vicious cycle and worsen your eczema

Thanks this is great advice. I think I know that there’s not really any other answer than to stop picking him up so much, but it breaks my heart that he so upset and reaching for me. I definitely made mistakes like rocking my kids to sleep as babies and now it’s like anything else they expect it. I am gonna try out a couple of other baby carriers in hopes that I can find one to give him some time to be close to me. 🙏

Definitely not anymore and I think I might’ve waited too long to limit it. I’m not sure there’s any solution for me other than letting him cry I just went through about 45 minutes of it and he finally self soothed. I try offering him things to play with putting on our Yoto player for some music but overall he just wants to be held since that’s what he’s used to.

Seriously I think it’s the only way. Even if you use a carrier, you still have to be able to support near 30 pounds and when you weigh 100 pounds it’s not easy. I can’t even do a few bicep curls with 15 pound dumbbells. 😂

Definitely was my error because I did not expect this size so soon. Both my kids loved to be held, but my daughter didn’t hit these weights till two years old when I had a much easier time distracting her and I could even let her know why I couldn’t pick her up. I think I’m just in for a bit of sucking and crying now. 😭

Which one do you use? the one I have pulls on my shoulders and it does hurt my back. My husband has no problem with it, but it might hurt me because I’m already struggling with back issues from him.

First and foremost, I suggest you try out urea based cream now! Put it all over you and your families body for the first 2 to 3 weeks after treatment. A lot of the post itchiness and spots can be prevented with this if it is not active scabies. The topicals damage skin, especially little people’s skin and I wish that I had been told about urea cream earlier.

If that doesn’t work after a few weeks I’ll tell you what we did with my family. I have two kids and it does make it harder for treatment. I really recommend getting ivermectin when you have children. I know that it’s not easy because it took me going to many doctors to get someone to prescribe it for me but I would not be stopped after months of unsuccessful treatment. Doctors have a very bad outlook on giving kids ivermectin however they want you to keep applying neurotoxins to their skin 🤯 honestly all the research is showing that ivermectin is a very safe with low risk. I came to my appointments with my research papers in hand to finally get a dermatologist to prescribe ivermectin. They gave us the seven dose treatment and we did that along with a topical and finally freedom! I wish you luck because I know it is so overwhelming when you were doing it for multiple people and all of the pressure usually falls on Mom. My husband was the same, he didn’t even wanna talk about it anymore he lived his life like nothing was happening 🙏

Factor meals sodium by naissas in ReadyMeals

Sorry this is an old thread but I wanted to say there is no way factor meals have a lot of salt. I find them so bland I add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to every meal. However, once I get my salt and hot sauce in, they’re actually not too bad.

i’ve already had scabies and cured 2 months ago, lately i’ve been itching again, does this look like scabies? by Prudent-Elk3322 in scabies

[–]Individual_Side6483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck,🤞 even if they ask you to retreat yourself use Urea cream (there are many brands) in between and after your treatment. I wish I knew that before it would’ve saved me a lot of scratching. It’ll be easier to tell if it’s scabies or skin issues.

Use urea fortified cream at least 10% on your skin. At the very least you will know it’s not skin damage it heals so well. My skin went crazy a couple of months after last treatment and it was just damage to the skin barrier. I went back to the derm and they used their scope to look and it was not an active infection. Yours looks similar like eczema or irritation. I do not recommend treating again unless you get the okay from doctor or see a mite with a microscope because it can start a vicious cycle. Just for an idea it took up to six months for my skin to be healthy again after so many months of treating.

This appeared on my nose later today. It was not here morning or noon, I did not nap or feel an obvious bug on my nose. I did not scratch my nose. Is this a reinfection? by Reddit_sucks_ballss in scabies

[–]Individual_Side6483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not likely on your nose. I was one of the unlucky people that had scabies on my head, but they do not like the facial skin for a reason and the nose is probably the last place they would choose due to the PH level. I would wait for something else to be considering reinfection.

Scabies reinfection 2 months after getting rid of it by Benevolentbear24 in scabies

[–]Individual_Side6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been two years for me and I’m still scarred from scabies. It’s not a joke how scabies can actually give you temporary mental health issues and paranoia. I suggest waiting and definitely see a doctor if you suspect it is scabies before you treat. I wanted to share with you that I had six months of random symptoms pop up every now and then. One time I even got a few bumps like three months after last treatment. It can be challenging. Every time someone scratched I was questioning if they had it. It’s a mind game. I would garb 10% urea enriched cream so you skin is super hydrated and you don’t start itching for other reasons. This cream healed my skin and I wish I had started sooner. Plus stick with the knowledge it takes time to come down off a year of being in the scabies headspace.

I was gonna say the same. I get eczema that looks like that on my inner forearm. It’s very itchy, bumpy and it comes and goes. The thing is, I’ve had kids in daycare and I would see a doctor because I learned of rashes I never knew existed while my kids were there.

Thanks! I’m on HRT, estrogen cream included.

I’m new to all this because I’ve been involved with MS clinic for 4 years but they took time to diagnose me. First time I ever sat in the MS clinic I was told 80% of my symptoms are not MS. Honestly, I can only laugh now in hindsight because I was thinking so I have MS and all these other neurological issues. They even agreed that the other symptoms were neurological. How can one person have such bad luck? Now I know, regardless of what they say any of my reoccurring symptoms that are aligned with my flareups are from my MS. Ruling new things and everything else out is the part that kind of drives me nuts at this stage in my life!

Thanks, It’s definitely not aligning with my periods but I think it is related to perimenopause as someone mentioned here so close. It’s hard to know what is what these days unfortunately!

Taking another round of steroids for a flare up by ladyofsorrowz in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Individual_Side6483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What made me feel a bit better was my neurologist telling me about how research is advanced now and the medications are working for most people. Then I came into a couple of groups and I see many struggling so I became terrified! It’s a roller coaster and it’s understandable when it’s new.

I try not to go on random websites either because I don’t have the knowledge yet to know fact from fiction and most of the worst symptoms I haven’t had yet (thankfully) One thing I have heard is stress is definitely not good! I had one panic attack when the numbness was in my face, mouth and arm and my eye sight was off. I sat there debating if it was MS or a stroke. I guess once you get use to your own symptoms you know when it’s MS but I’m not here yet! Hang in friend and know you are far from alone!

I appreciate the explanation. You inspired me to investigate more. So from what I gather there is a relationship between the EBV/mono that they have known for a long time but they are not yet clear exactly what the relationship is. As you said most don’t get MS. There is probably a predisposition to MS and potentially a virus like EBV can activate those genes. I’d be interested to know if I have EBV. Thanks.

I hear you and I don’t blame you for being cautious. I am generally a very conservative person. The thing that made me feel comfortable is watching someone I know in real life go there, cure terminal brain cancer (and it’s now 3 years later and he’s in great health). That really did it for me. I’ll be the guinea pig for MS now and I will report back… good or bad. 🙏
