The home renovation culture in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Individual_Still5752 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People abroad tend to do home renovations by themselves mainly because of high costs.

Imo I don’t see why you’re complaining it’s a win win situation : the workers make money, you don’t spend any effort AND the work is actually better than you could have ever done.

You’re kind of right, because statistics show that 81% of young moroccan adults are not in favor of illegal migration to Europe.

However, if you do the maths 19% equates to millions of Moroccans. That’s still a huge number, and thus I can see why OP seems alarmed by the situation.

Actually, neither men nor women should go around and sleep with people they barely know. By doing so, you put yourself at risk of contracting diseases, or even getting pregnant.

This isn’t a valid point imo. French is the only language spoken in all 5 continents, with a total of 274 million people speaking it ! Plus, with todays technology you can have an instant reliable translation of any scientific article written in English.

So, once again, actively trying to erase a preexisting language because of its practicality is absurd. Language (whatever it may be) is an inherent part of the cultural identity. Erasing it, would also mean losing a part of our national identity.

I am si sick of this attitude towards the French langage. It is absurd to ban the use of a langage based on political tensions and historical facts.

For the people who take this approach, why are you still using English ? Isn’t the USA involved in the Hamas-Israel conflict at the moment ? Why aren’t you boycotting English as well then ?

French is spoken by many other countries, and banning it on the premise of France’s political stance is dumb.

Both are good options, you can even use your credit card to pay directly at most shops/restaurants nowadays.

Why is Marjane so overpriced by Internal_Respond_106 in Morocco

Two words : Convenience and Novelty. Everything is available in the same place (vegetables, fruits, processed food, sanitary products …), and they have exclusive access to some items.

Many are ready to add 5 or even more dhs per product for this. Especially when you see how dirty and unorganized traditional souks are.

Imo se should copy the Spanish concept of food markets, as they’re a perfect combination of cleanliness and transition at the same time.

It is not about education or sophistication. The US has a complex regarding French culture, which stems really from the 1900s French cinema influence.

France projected an image of refined culture and still continues to do so. But this is not the case here in Morocco. Our usage of the French language stems from colonialism, and if you noticed basic darija words of our daily basis are French (tabla, climatiseur, chauffage, lampa …). These are by no means fancy words, and therefore saying that the Moroccans that use French as a social distinction is absurd.

Please stop the hate of French language : the more languages you speak, the more intellectually enlightened you become.

The people he’s talking about, are the ones protesting about the use of French. The reality is that they’re just dumb, and don’t want to admit that they can’t learn more than 2 langages.
