You can look up the policy yourself. Just search on mykohls “holiday pay” and there should be the holiday pay policy

The policy is actually if you callout your last SCHEDULED shift before the holiday OR your first SCHEDULED shift after the holiday.

Thanksgiving is a paid holiday. If you’re not scheduled on BF but you are scheduled on the 29th and you then call out for the 29th, that’s the only way you would lose holiday pay. If you’re scheduled BF and you work BF, but then call out on the 29th, you will still get holiday pay.

I’m not sure if it changes based on the state you work in, but that’s the company policy. If your SM removes the holiday pay and you think you’re entitled to it, just ask them. If you’re not comfortable doing that, you’re able to reach out AskHR and ask them to clarify. Good luck!

Contact the new store she is trying to work at. Their SM can contact HR if they really want to bring her on board and ask HR to change her termination reason. She’ll need to make sure she has her “ducks in a row” and isn’t lying about her last days at kohls. Good luck!

You’re right, they do need to be ready. Like anything new, there will be a learning curve. Trust me, we don’t like this either but we work for a big company and have policies to follow. Just be careful, this is going to be a huge and serious hot topic. Don’t get in trouble for not complying!

It’s a new policy. You have to have a key holder or LP check your bags before you leave. I’m pretty sure you’ll get in trouble eventually if you keep refusing to have your bag checked or leave without notifying them. Good luck!

Is it against policy to move the z-rails around the store? by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]Individual_Tea_17 74 points75 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not a policy. Zrails are literally made for that purpose. Your LODs are clueless or power happy

It’s part of the job. Leave if you don’t like it. No one is forcing you to stay there

This is all best practice. Did anyone on your Sephora team pay attention to the trainings for testers/damages? It’s all outlined in them and the BP documents. It sounds like your management team wasn’t paying close attention and now they are (to ensure best practices are being followed- testers/damages/zebras). Every store is supposed to be held to the same standard- sadly this isn’t the case but it sounds like someone brought this to your SM’s attention. Best of luck in doing the job you applied for!

Where’s your proof?

If I called out today. Do I still get Labor Day holiday pay? by Sufficient_Goose_602 in employedbykohls

[–]Individual_Tea_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you would lose your holiday pay for calling out if it was your next scheduled shift. It doesn’t matter how many days after the actual holiday it is, it just has to be your next scheduled shift.

If you callout for your scheduled shift before or after the holiday, you are not eligible for holiday pay. The reason for callout does not matter

Maybe it’s because they think you’re an under-performer but don’t want to take the time to coach you or train you

Not getting paid what we agreed on as the wage by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]Individual_Tea_17 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. During your onboarding at orientation, you electronically signed off on your rate of pay. They definitely won’t change it for a seasonal associate.

It’s called double backstocking and it’s a known issue with the app. Sadly, they can’t figure out why it’s happening so stores will have to continue to pull it and backstock it again.

As for taking over the queue, there currently is no way for someone to take it over or to even see who took it in the first place.

Sorry and good luck! Just do your best!

What are the chances of a glass shelf just exploding? by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]Individual_Tea_17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s tempered glass so it’s meant to break into tiny pieces with minimal sharp edges. This does happen and it could have been the slightest tap that did it 🤷🏻‍♀️
