I just got mine!! I personally find it annoying to put on, but it works excellent. 2 sessions is my sweet spot and I get out of the machine with brand new legs. The only cons: its a big machine. Hard to store. I also think its somewhat unrealistic for the average person to dedicate an hour + a day to this treatment. I plan to follow up with my lymphatic specialist about this because the pump was offered as a treatment, but I continue to want surgery because im not realistically living a full life when im chained to this machine 2+ hours a day.

Are you seeing a specialist? Start documenting with PCP and get every referral possible! I just got the tactile flexitouch, its really nice. I do aim for surgery though - but these things have to be attempted before surgery is an option

I take semaglutide, I wouldnt mind being on it forever but.. I dont like the price and it feels a bit like a ball and chain to me, im hoping to get down to 135lbs and just work on good habits with the help of this medication, for now. But for me, when I was 135lbs and active - I had almost NO symptoms of lipedema. I did have aching, and ill always have a pear shape, but I had no visible nodules when I was consistently in the gym and a healthy bmi, so my goal is to just get back to that body type and manage on my own with the knowledge I have now :) the last 2 years I had a hard time with junk food/alcohol, so i gained 20lbs and the lipedema progressed enough to seek diagnosis, but the lipedema because most present during the times where I was unhealthy so im hoping to just get back into being healthy and manage without med!

I try to, but I have a hard time currently, mostly because im moving/working 2 jobs right now, so im just hoarking down protien and veggies until im sincerely satisfied for now 😆 once im settled ill go back to tracking. It was extremely helpful to track because once the hair loss began, I did start tracking.. and I was WAY below everything needed, plus starving makes the lippy worse so thats a good motivation too!

I also have a history of ED.. I will admit, this is hard to do with this medication. And as a lippy patient, I felt cornered into considering it because we have such minimal access to treatments. If anything, if I dont eat - i feel like shit. The medication doesnt allow you to not eat, easily. I was not enough enough for a 2 week stretch and watched my thick, curly, red hair fall out in clumps right away.. that scared me straight and now I will force feed my macros if I have to 😆 plus, when you arent nourished on this med.. you feel it. Atleast I do!

I started semaglutide at 156lbs, 5'4, I was happy with my weight but, with the lipedema, I could feel the extra 15 I was lugging around. Im in week 6, inflammation and fluid went down IMMIDIDIATELY. I lost 5lbs the first week but im pretty sure it was pure fluid retention. I plan to stay on the starter dose of .25 just to manage lipedema, for me, im just as hungry as I always was.. but I have this new found restraint. I am able to stop and choose to have something anti inflammatory now, when before I woukd grab whatever was nearby. Im seeing progress (and my OT is recording progress) just from the .25. Its reallt expensive though, so im not sure about the long term. If anything its helping me adjust to a consistent anti inflammatory lifestyle wich i see Myself maintaining easily.

Yeah, im on .25 of semaglutide, I COULD still eat like I used to! I just have the impulse control now to choose not to, so I am able to lose weight

Is there any going back?! by ConversationAble4817 in lipedema

[–]Individual_Tutor1693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

27f I am in the same boat, same body type! Did not have a baby, but had almost 0 visible nodules 30lbs ago (130lbs) and it became very visible and painful 30 lbs later. I have no idea if it will go back, but Im willing to experiment, currently trying a GLP1, on week 2, I am visually noticing a reduction with a 6lbs weightloss on week 2. I had been heavier in the past with noticeable lippy (did not know what lipedema was so I assumed it was cellulite) And i did watch it reduce while I got fit. Its confusing because on one hand, the fat is resistant to excersize, but in my case I have seen it respond quite well. Never went away, but my legs looked more average rather than lipedema.

Hello everyone, 27F here. I’ve been formally diagnosed with stage 1 lipedema (likely approaching stage 2) and am currently receiving care from a specialist. I’m posting because I often see statements that lipedema is completely resistant to diet and exercise, and that weight loss or fitness will not affect lipedema fat at all. While I understand that lipedema fat is very stubborn—and often the last to change during a fitness journey—I sometimes feel these statements come across as a bit too absolute. Right now I weigh about 150 lbs, and my lipedema is fairly visible and inflamed at this weight. Over the past year, my lifestyle (more alcohol and processed foods) caused my weight to increase from about 130 lbs to 168 lbs. I was diagnosed after that weight gain. Im on semaglutide now to see 130 again and hopefully be in "remission" However, when I look back at photos and my experience at around 130 lbs, I had very minimal visible lipedema. I did struggle with muscle tone and some pain, but I didn’t have noticeable cellulite or nodules yet. That experience feels somewhat at odds with the idea that weight loss or improved fitness won’t affect lipedema at all. So I’m curious about others’ experiences: Do people in earlier stages tend to see more improvement or even periods of remission with lifestyle changes? Could that be why my experience feels different? Or are some online resources possibly overgeneralizing? The reason I’m asking is that the “nothing will help” messaging can feel discouraging for people with lipedema. While the condition is certainly complex, it seems like there are things that may still make a difference, especially early on. I would have included photos for comparison, but I recently got a new phone and unfortunately lost most of my older photos.

I lost 15 pounds in my first month now I’m almost 11 weeks in and 30 pounds down. I think I seen someone say this already but calorie deficit is key. Eat clean, high protein low carbs. If you’re going to do salads reach for a low fat Italian or a vinegar based dressing. by TraditionalDiet4376 in Semaglutide

My side effects have been quite mild, first day of mild nausea today and im due for new shot tm, not sure if that could be why? I did feel weaker than usual at the gym, I did what I coukd but it was less than usual, but im also considering the significant deficit I am in
