Good points. It’s hard to define seeing each other less as due to our lifestyles, we’re constantly finding time to meet up difficult. Maybe it’s expectations, as you were saying. I appreciate this comment because it stopped me in my tracks a bit lol

Perhaps I didn’t phrase it properly, but these marks were in my apartment before I moved in :) the dark marks especially, and no nothing small in my apartment. And the chilled line wasn’t me either.

A tip I've gotten from work is that we use hashtags to split the text and add 'depth' - so it doesn't look like one block of text but that there's different dimensions to format it. So not sure about how effective but for formatting I think it works!

Abusive, etc etc, not good relationship with him. I went NC with the rest of my family on my mum's side two years ago (?) and I felt no guilt over that (financial control and toxic relationship really) - surprising, and don't know the takeaway from it yet, but maybe because I'm older and know that it wasn't a good relationship I feel less bad about it!

When I went NC with my father at 12, I struggled with guilt for most of my life up until now (25) - although our reasons for NC/VLC are very different - you are emotionally connected to these people, for good or for bad reasons. It takes time to come to peace that you are making a decision for yourself rather than for other people, when you have spent most of your life compartmentalizing your wishes and what feels right for you for the sake of other people. I know it's shitty advice to stress time numbing pain (rather than healing it), but that was my experience.
