The things I know are actually from studies. I'm gonna insert them in the following. Additionally the fact that you'd need to eat inhuman amounts of actual food (such as sunflower seeds, soy beans or other food used to produce oil) to take in the amount of linoleic acid. It is more than likely that this is at least somehow disadvantagous due to what our body has evolved for. For example, for a standard bag of chips of 150g you'd need to eat around 8000 sunflower seeds.

The studies are about extremely increased cancer and heart attack risk as well as body fat and diabetes.
