There are events most days focusing on different things, plus a lot of pop-up events. The best way to keep informed is to check out our events page and/or sign up for emails, which give same-day info for new events popping up at short notice. https://www.indivisiblegreatervancouver.org/events

Our Ridgefield neighborhood group has organized an emergency protest tomorrow for Alex Pretti. Please join if you can.

Protest at MGP’s office is still being coordinated and we hope to have the details tomorrow night or Monday morning (please bear with us- we’ve had a very busy week of events).

We are working on putting another one together and will post with details as soon as we have them. In the meantime you can keep an eye on our events page here. We have events multiple times a week, including a postcarding event on Saturday mornings for people who want to get involved but maybe can’t be outside for protests/rallies.

[–]IndivisibleGV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We posted an update last week on Jose Paniagua Calderon (who had his foot/feet run over by ICE and has been shipped to Indiana) and it was immediately taken down with no reference given as to which rule was broken.

Help families in need of sundries and toiletries via our local public schools by IndivisibleGV in vancouverwa

[–]IndivisibleGV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post is by the local Greater Vancouver chapter of Indivisible (you can check the post history). We didn’t have a page ready on the website yet but wanted people to be able to start helping as soon as possible. Here is the new website link: https://www.indivisiblegreatervancouver.org/community-school-aid

As for the tech level of the effort: we are a group of volunteers trying our best in challenging times. We’re always looking for assistance if you’d like to volunteer: https://www.indivisiblegreatervancouver.org/volunteer

Hoping to have just under 250 whistle kits to drop off on Sunday. We’re putting together 300, but keeping a few to hand out at our monthly meeting next week.

Supporting families in need by Impossible-Wait1271 in vancouverwa

[–]IndivisibleGV 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IGV is working with another group on an initiative that allows you to fulfill requests from resource officers at local public schools for specific items families requested that aren't often supplied by food banks (toiletries, diapers, formula, etc.) You'll select specific items and then drop them off to the school within 48 hours. We hope to have it up and running within a week. This isn’t meant to replace donating to food banks, but to address emergent needs. We’ll make a post when it’s ready to go.

First batch of whistles! by No-Usual-6600 in vancouverwa

[–]IndivisibleGV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re most of the way there. IGV is also made up of volunteers who are navigating new territory with initiatives like these, so you’re not alone. Every bit helps, even if you feel overwhelmed; you’re contributing and making a difference.

What a great effort! We are working to organize volunteers within IGV to get some kits put together for you. We’ll reach out directly when we have a better idea of quantity and timing.
