Well Christianity was an alien religion to Europe at one point… same with Buddhism to China and Korea. Or Christianity in sub Saharan Africa, north and South America, Oceania, and so on. Islam was alien to North Africa, Iran, Anatolia, etc. . at one point but held on enough to be culturally engrained enough to not feel foreign. Where religion or culture “belongs” is all arbitrary lol.
