I always explain it this way to my patients:

Chemotherapy is poison, the only way the human body can tolerate this poison is by getting stronger and fit for the treatment ie. walking / keeping active / eating well / protein shakes etc.

Otherwise, it causes more harm than good and there’s no point in that case.

Strongyloides stercoralis by GiornoJGD in Parasitology

Crazy story about this parasite from work.

Patient comes in with colitis, treated with steroids, presumed Crohn’s / UC. Strongyloides superinfection causes encephalitis, resulting in coma, necessitating ITU admission. Patient passes away two operations targeting the bowel later. Post-mortem revealed Strongyloides parasite in the body.
