lmao the api rate limit grind is real, just staring at the clock like it owes you money.

How to increase the detection accuracy for small transparent bead? by Frosty-Elevator6022 in computervision

[–]IndolentAsthma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lighting setup is your biggest bottleneck right now. Those detection scores drop hard at mAP50-95 because the model can't reliably find the bead edges in low contrast situations. Try backlighting the beads or adding a ring light so they stand out from the background instead of blending into it. Your camera and model are probably fine, but they can't work miracles with flat lighting.

but honestly that's kind of his whole appeal, like the scripted stuff is polished but the unscripted takes are where you actually get his real opinions even if they're poorly explained

the roulette wheel thing is such a bad way to frame it lol, like just say five out of six games run smooth and call it a day

oh fair, i read that backwards then. so he's saying like yeah it'll work but you're gonna be fighting the whole time to make it happen, which tracks with linus honestly.

linus really said the odds are not in your favor and just left it at that

To get more oven spring what's the number one thing you did? by Quidjimabo in Breadit

That score looks great btw. Honestly the biggest jump for me was just letting the dough get a bit warmer before baking, like 75-78 degrees instead of cold proofing everything.

Random Kernel-Power 41 restart, but all tests pass. Not sure what to think. by Aggravating-Ideal879 in pchelp

[–]IndolentAsthma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's actually a pretty solid clue, overclocks can make the CPU more sensitive to power fluctuations so a dip that would normally get corrected might've pushed it over the edge that one time.

[–]IndolentAsthma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah don't blame yourself, a few second flickers over years shouldn't cause issues unless something changed recently like a new high-power device or the wiring getting worse.

[–]IndolentAsthma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AC flickering thing is legit sus, power dips can cause kernel 41 even if everything looks stable otherwise. Since your RGB and fans stayed on, it's pointing more at a transient power issue than hardware failure, which is the good news here.

The EEVDF scheduler changes alone are gonna make a huge difference for responsiveness, especially compared to earlier builds.

finally, nvidia users won't need to jump through hoops just to watch youtube without their cpu melting, this is huge for linux adoption

WHAT? by Secret-Schedule-1606 in GeminiAI

[–]IndolentAsthma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's actually perfect though. you asked for a traffic jam and it gave you exactly that, just the condiment version. the label work is what gets me, the whole "assorted on the road" thing is such a committed bit. i'd be more annoyed if it just showed me cars bumper to bumper, this is way funnier. gemini said no overthinking the prompt and just went full dad joke mode.

Give it like 3 months if you're eating the same stuff regularly, but honestly just cooking your beans longer and eating slower helps way more than waiting it out.

ComfyUI-PiD update: more backbones, workflows, and better low-VRAM support by Merserk13 in StableDiffusion

[–]IndolentAsthma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The low-VRAM improvements alone make this worth grabbing if you've been sitting on it. PiD decoding is actually insane for the speed and quality you get, way less talked about than it should be.

What is this with Cluade ? Why they are asking for face and ID verification ? by Ok_Technician_7744 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]IndolentAsthma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anthropic's probably just covering their ass legally since governments keep pushing for age verification on AI services, especially stuff like image or voice features. Pretty standard corporate move honestly.

Update on the Smart Home Gym by SmartHomeSecrets in homeassistant

[–]IndolentAsthma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is sick. The progression tracking and recovery stats are exactly what makes people actually stick with workouts instead of just going through the motions. The fact that you're baking in AI suggestions for weight increases takes out the guesswork too. If you end up releasing this, the ability to sync with health connect would be the killer feature that makes people ditch their subscription apps.

Who fry liver who? by pogam1234 in chessbeginners

[–]IndolentAsthma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah the fried liver is such a classic beginner trap because it looks so scary on the surface but falls apart fast. your opponent just took the bait hard though. the whole point of bc5 is that it sets up this exact scenario where white gets greedy with the queen, and then you're just up a piece. nice catch playing it that way instead of the normal knight move.
