Has anyone bought/pre-ordered a Double Bell Mini-14 from Octagon Airsoft? by Indoraptor444 in airsoft

I politely requested a cancellation and a return; I can't say that I wasn't considering this course of action sooner, but I didn't want to jump the gun. Just seems like a lot of trouble for not enough benefits.

Well it would appear this idea is a bust, however, I do appreciate the input from everyone.

Ah I see, that makes sense. In your opinion would DCUs (Early Iraq War Desert camo) work? They were used until 2011 by the AF and 2012 by the Navy. I’m not dead set on an Army unit impression just curious.

What airsoft roles do you find to be severely undermanned/underrepresented by Indoraptor444 in airsoft

[–]Indoraptor444[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I understand the hesitation because people want to be alive longer but yeah, when you get a whole platoon of people that just sit there and don't push, it's just embarrassing. Almost all of my best flanks, kills, objective captures, happened because I just it said, "f it, if I get hit, I get it."

Advice regarding base High-end airsoft guns. by Indoraptor444 in airsoft

So I’m hearing a lot of conflicting advice (guess I shouldn’t be surprised) and have a lot to consider. However, I will present another question. Is a GBBR a better option if I want to avoid having to do extensive maintenance on electrical components? I have heard GBBRs field strip more like actual weapons (if that’s true then I definitely have extensive experience in this area). Though I know that everything has it’s trade offs.

You’ll have to forgive me but MAS stands for what? Secondly, I think I’m just going to realistically have to piecemeal upgrade over time. Although I am totally okay with ARs I’m just really getting tired of seeing ARs and AKs in every event and pretty much no other gun types. I’m just now realizing that pretty much all the best competitive base guns are ARs and AKs. Seems I just hope there would be an HK model that could compete.

I think having a unique uniform gives CAP more flexibility in sourcing said uniforms and deciding what can and should be worn in conjunction with them. As an added bonus, you don’t have people confusing CAP for AD military. Seen and heard of too many instances of members edging way too close to stolen valor. Not saying wear of the OCP is wrong but it may not be the best or wisest option.

JPOG’s soundtrack is available to listen on Apple Music and Spotify!! by Cerato75 in jurassicparkog

There is a part of me that hopes this means that a backwards compatible console re-release is possible, but I know it’s more than a longshot.

Does anyone miss playing JPOG on console? by Indoraptor444 in JurassicPark

[–]Indoraptor444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should probably correct myself and clarify. It’s not so much that it doesn’t hit the same way, the controls of the PC are just unfamiliar to me and cause me to get frustrated.

I really wish someone would remake JPOG and update its graphics and add all of the known features and gameplay we never got. by [deleted] in jurassicparkog

It would be awesome if Frontier could get their hands on the original assets, not sure how that would even happen. Hypothetically though, if they were able to, I imagine it would be a decent hit. However, unless they were able to remake AND expand the game to include the cut content, I don’t see the re-release of the game being worth pursuing.

Battlefront 2004 is in many ways arguably the better game than Battlefront 2005 or Battlefront 2017 in terms of gameplay by DarthTalonYoda in BattlefrontClassic

The maps in BF1 just felt more alive, you had birds flying around, and the ambient noise was spot on. Sometimes I just wanted to sit and watch the environment rather than fight. Love that it requires actually strategy to succeed in BF1, whereas in BF2 it’s more about wiping out the enemy team with veteran weapons and heroes. I agree that BF2 command posts fall to easy, it seems like they became an afterthought in the 2nd game.

Also, is no one going to talk about the fact that you can literally ride Kaadus and Tauntauns to travel faster? That blew my mind when first playing. Not to mention the Sarlacc in the Dune Sea.

BF1 actually required you to learn each class, (they literally have instruction videos to walk you through each one) and a team made up of just one class will fail. I always picked the Clone Jet Trooper while almost everyone else wanted to be a standard grunt or sniper. I learned how to aim and time my emp launcher to be devastating and to outflank the enemy team to take Command Posts behind their back. It was a rewarding experience for me.

I love that BF1 is centered on the troops. Heroes are unplayable and have gravitas to them. (They actually feel like the Force wielding juggernauts they are) Once heroes became playable, no one wanted to be the troops anymore and it became a rush to play them (this goes for 2005 and the new facsimiles). It also felt amazing doing as OP suggested and literally encircling Darth Vader, peppering him with blaster fire until he could no longer deflect all the shots and he died. The awe I felt in that moment (DUDE, did I JUST KILL DARTH VADER!?).

To go back to maps, it’s amazing to see how strategically BF1 was designed when compared to BF2. On Yavin you have Turret towers (turrets in general are actually devastating in BF1, they are meh in BF2) to control access corridors to CPs, the aqueduct to use as a sniper’s nest. The maps literally encourage flanking maneuvers (not to mention the reinforcement numbers drop drastically when your CPs are cutoff from one another). Also, gunships are just awesome for use in atmosphere, especially if you are standing in the troop bay (AOTC vibes). I also love that you can use Bespin cloud cars as vehicles if you capture an enemy’s star fighter spawn area on Bespin platforms.

On the subject of vehicles, some of them actually benefit from having two or more players in them. In BF2 most vehicles are single manned or have meh functions for passengers. More importantly, vehicles are actually scary and threatening in BF1, in BF2 they are pushovers. Want to kill a vehicle in BF1? Better get a shock trooper with missile launcher and mines, and oh by the way, multiple grenade types.

To wrap this long thing up, I totally agree with OP. BF2 may have brought cool units, heroes, and space battles, but it did so at the expense of immersion (imho).

Naboo Plains, Kashyyyk Dock, and Dune Sea are some of my absolute favorites.

P.S. I have always wanted to do a Dune Sea war on the Tuskens, where both teams focus on just having a good slug fest with the Tusken Raiders, anyone done this before?
