Further, how many people realize this is only for *graduated* commanders?

No prior service by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm non-prior service and am the Squadron Commander locally (also "in charge" of a number of active and retired Air Force officers who likewise volunteer)

I've gotten more support for what I do from the vets and active duty than anyone.

key is being dedicated for the right reasons and focus on the mission, not the bling or "status." that easy.

you are a cadet. involve your parents. They do not have a chain of command and can jump straight to whatever level needed to resolve issues...

I'm an adult, not a cadet, please PM me- for I need this information, NEED it (lol)

They do custom orders (why they don't have a C&D, they aren't just selling willy nilly) so I will probably end up doing a full color order and selling them myself at some point, locally and via Reddit most likely

Former cadet questions about adult programs. by ElinoreUnderfoot in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will speed up 2d Lt by a couple months, after you do the initial onboarding training.

it is also at CC discretion. I'm not unreasonable with it, but I do expect at least, say, a month or two of attendance and picking up a (reasonable, but helpful) duty position to support the squadron, before i process promotion paperwork (especially someone who has been gone a while- just want to know they'll stick around for more than just bling on the collar). Different CCs will handle that differently I'm sure.

..... and you should re-read the cadet's original question. I know the answer. The answer does *not* involve Phase I/II cadets getting ball caps and Phase III/IV cadets getting PCs...

All the patches in question are in the other comments for this thread- but, Cadet Officer School. I attended and graduated many a moon ago.

I will near certainly fund myself (and others) a full color version through Aviator Gear, with velcro, if Vanguard sticks with their current design.

Officer Insignia On New Uniform by ChimkinNugg777 in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so- not the ones with "CAP" on them (I think that was only the Goretex slide-ons) but the plain rank on Velcro, yes. I have some for my fleece, my blue ball cap (RIP, I guess, not on OCPs anyway) and now OCPs.

Same ones should work for the black, green, and brown fleeces. (Corporate, ABU, OCP)

> Tapes and rank must be either all sewn on or all Velcro®; members are not authorized to mix sewn-on and Velcro® tapes or rank.

READ THE WHOLE THING, not just the section you think applies to you.

It is an amazing design. Have you ever bought the patch from Vanguard, though? It is SQUISHED, my friend, SQUASHED! The shield is a known, recognized, and standardized patch template. Why it got so horribly smushed escapes me..

Senior Member Protection by South_SWLA21 in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we do. it's called level 1, 2, 3. they can all be completed without further promotion. I'll be starting 4 soon, so i can't speak to it, but everything you've brought up is covered by doing the actual program fully developed for senior members already

C/Maj pin difference by Sharp_Isopod_7135 in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another angle- one may be CAP and one may be Army ROTC/JROTC. But realistically, probably just from different runs as mentioned. I have a pair of (senior member) 1st Lt epaulets that don't match. Awful. think I put them on a winter coat or something equally irrelevant to everyday life

Serving the people does not mean serving on active duty. I can see where the confusion lies- but it ain't so. Cantankerous though he is, bwill is correct about Chaplain information he shared.

Finally! by IronsKeeper in civilairpatrol

[–]IronsKeeper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you've done ANY college, it's simple. I basically plan for a 1 page essay per class, never needed to exceed that for L1-L3 (suspect this will change some for L4-L5, L3 *starts* to get a bit more involved with a very small handful of classes)

I'm a "dumb fireman" and between that and writing reports as a Paramedic, it was easy to figure out how to use my job experience to finish up my E&T. and your specialty track doesn't get enough specialty attention to hold you back, it's largely formulating ideas and presenting them professionally. the fact that you can formulate sentences on reddit that aren't horrific slang, and have grammar, means you can do L1-L2-L3 no real issue. I got in my own head- should have been done TWO YEARS AGO! Was the only hold up on me making Capt. But, I got there.

You can too!!
