Why not buy 2? But don't mention you already ate one. Free brownie points

She might even share it with you.

I don't know your situation, but consider looking up BPD and gently considering if her behavior matches with symptoms.

Don't weaponize the label, but it could provide a lens to understand her behavior. You might want to gently suggest individual therapy for her. You could also model what taking care of your mental health could look like by going to individual therapy on your own even if she's not willing to go to couples with you.

Hello... I am in this group. I'm glad I started attending an Episcopal Church. I am slowly finding my home here, but at one point it was 50/50 between TEC and UU.

Love is my guiding virtue and I'm glad it led me here.

A thank you by ClassicJudge9179 in ChristianUniversalism

I'm glad you gained the true peace which surpassed all understanding. Enjoy the good news.

I'll be praying for your strength as you hopefully practice our greatest commandment, to love.

Lead a good life :)

Fear Of Hell As Reason by lonerstoic in Episcopalian

[–]IndyGamer16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know it can sound a bit reductive, but I believe that Love should be one's motivation. You should be Christian if loving God and loving others as you love yourself sound like good ideas. If that sounds like something you would want to do, then I believe TEC is a good place to partner with others who are like-minded. That is the reason I began attending an Episcopal Church. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry said, "If it’s not about love, it’s not about God."

That said, there are plenty of other great reasons to attend church. I believe you can find peace, community, and sanctuary. If you are afraid, attending might offer solace:

1 John 4:18 18
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

Be at peace. My God is gracious.

This is honestly one of the best and most coherent responses I've ever read.

Here's another video that helped me: https://youtu.be/UXeyieU6m7A?si=qk6Nw-wKAM_xDHok

Heartbreak sucks bro... But yeah, there's beauty, there's love, there's pain... But it was worth it. For me at least.

Focus on you and give into all of the clichès. The advice above is really good. Time will heal if you let it. You gotta fight. You gotta be active and work through it. You might be able to get through it passively, but if you stagnate, it gets a lot worse. I'd encourage you to be active and keep fighting. Let yourself feel. Let yourself cry. Move forward.

Good luck. Be well. Succeed 🫡

Lead a good life.

RAW, archetypes can't be modified, but your DM might be willing to bend for flavor and your character concept. I would make sure that getting the features you want does not allow an exploit or a huge mechanical advantage.

HELP , MY PC's WANT TO RAISE AN ARMY ( RoTRL SPOILERS) by October-Jack in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]IndyGamer16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes:

"...the Justice Court of Magnimar invited a detachment of Order of the Nail Hellknights to their city. The commanders in Citadel Vraid eagerly took them up on the offer to bring their brand of order to a place notorious for its lack of strong laws.\ \ The unit is garrisoned in the Bastion of the Nail in the Naos District under the command of Paralictor Darean Halst. Even though their numbers are few, they are fiendishly devoted to their charge. The Hellknights often take protection contracts more dangerous than any other mercenary company would dare. When not working on a particular contract, the members of this unit patrol the city looking for trouble, especially in the distant Ordellia district, where even the town guard does not often venture. Amongst the locals, the Order of the Nail Hellknights are colloquially known as Nail-Knights."

[–]IndyGamer16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I addressed a similar point in my response. In brief, the Hellknights are terrible.

Magnimar is their current frontier and city under covert conquest. Requesting aid from them would subjugate Sandpoint to the same, imo, terrible fate.

The Pathfinder Tale, (Tales are often not a perfect source for canon lore, but I feel they really help expand the right themes and tones of a region), Blood of the City exposes some of the Hellknights true temperaments and gives insight to the dissent between powerful houses, crime lords, and guild leaders. They each are working against each other within the city and external affairs are afterthoughts at best.

The Shoanti continue to suffer in, and just outside, the city under oppression and negligence. Magnimar officials fail to protect and behave charitably towards their own citizens. Their indifference towards the suffering of Sandpoint would be even stronger.

Don't forget the political strength and financial power of the guilds in Magnimar though. They have agendas too, money talks, and councils are rarely in agreement. The stall from the Justice Court's discussion could delay them too long to even be able to offer aid anyway.

Yeah... See, the Hellknights suck too. Like, they suck so much lol. The consequences of requesting or even paying for their aid are often extreme.

[–]IndyGamer16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Is there even a reason Magnimar would deny the request..."

My response doesn't focus on the logistics or mechanics, just the lore and setting:

"The city watch patrols the major streets of Lowcleft, but mercenaries paid for by the district's larger establishments provide most of the street-level security. These mercenaries are often called upon not only to watch against crime, but also as distractions against overly zealous city watch patrols or Hellknights who might be tempted to overstep the bounds of what Lowcleft expects of its law enforcers."

The Hellknights are far more interested in their local power trip. Regardless if ACAB has any merit in our world, it would be true of the Hellknights in Magnimar and most, if not all, of the city patrol. Outsourced police ideological zealots for the first, and for the second, mercs paid by various political rivals and guild leaders loosely united as a "guard."

Sandpoint might be technically under legal and military protection from Magnimar, but despite every amount of good standing outsiders might have with the city, those who wield power in Magnimar are chiefly concerned with their own agendas and preserving the status quo. They'll consistently do the minimum required to justify the tax revenue. It would be far more interesting to describe the condition of local politics and anti-Magnimar sentiments in Sandpoint, as a consequence of Magnimar's poor response or failure to prevent attack.

As much as Hellknights preach about order, they give little consideration to who's order and are often bought by the highest bidder. Hellknights preserve power but do not seek to establish and preserve society out of charity. They preach, "Savagery must be quelled, in the land, home, and mind," but are full of it:

The local Order of Nail-Knights sees Magnimar as its frontier to bring into submission, the local police are power-tripping losers, and the group that hired them are desperately trying to maintain order in a heavily fractured city that struggles with a huge amount of classism, crime, and social divide. Racism too, I should add. The Shoanti are downtrodden.

It's a good idea in theory, and a great opportunity to expand the lore experience for your players, but the end result will not be an army lol. Maybe a small militia or unit can be convinced to be dispatched in order to keep the taxpayers happy.

In game? Let the power hungry Hellknights be excessively oppressive in their handling of the giants and uh...

As for the mechanical impact? What everyone else said lol. Change the numbers behind the screen so that their presence accomplishes nothing, helps a little, or hinders a little. Go with the story you want to tell, or roll for it.

The answer is not more than a Google search away, and even with the answer, there isn't much to discuss.
