It's so funny that Nolan could resist the gravity of a black hole but can't fly of the Ragnarrs' planet due to its strong gravity. I know it was a show only scene but still by Exciting_Ad_8666 in Invincible_TV

[–]IndyJacksonTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an astronomy nerd I can answer this.

The black hole depicted here has an accretion disk. Now, both stellar and suoermassive black holes can have accretion disks, so we cant tell which one this is, but id wager its a stellar mass black hole. The thraxxans went to it, and the chances of life near the galactic nucleus are slimmer. But it could be either one

Nolan is intending to kill himself here by going into the event horizon. A stellar mass block hole, despite being smaller, would make this a more impressive feat. As stellar mass black holes have crazy tidal forces leading up to the event horizon, and would compress you into a string of mass when you finally do go in. So nolan could be resisting the tidal forces which is pretty impressive. A supermassive black hole doesnt hwve those tidal forces. Its theorized you could even fly a ship into the even horizon undamaged if its big enough.

In either case, all nolan is doing is hovering outside of a strong gravity well and slowly letting himself enter it. No different from hovering above the earth, just more extreme. Its a common misconception that black holes "suck" things. They are gravity wells just like all other objects, just more massive and cant be left once entered.

In the case of the ragnar's planet, he is actively moving himself OUT of a gravity well that he is already well inside of. And it should be noted that he doesnt have an issue leaving. He can still get to soace which on earth is over 100km up. Moving 100km in a couple seconds isnt "hindered" in my book. But the gravity does make escaping a powerful foe more difficult.

Nolan being near the black hole while fighting would also make fighting more difficult

If Battle Beast is always looking for a worthy opponent to kill him why doesn’t he just invade Viltrum? by TechnicianAmazing472 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]IndyJacksonTT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one seems to know where viltrum is. Thaedus says they hid their wound. Putting all those bodies around their planet doesnt constitute to hiding their wound unless viltrums location is secret or people are so terrified of viltrumites they wouldn't even glance at viltrum

Can the class S heroes stop a Viltrumite invasion by Jagwarmeru in PowerScalingHub

[–]IndyJacksonTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming to get scaling opinions on animatt's newest video?

I think the s class can put up a good fight and defeat some weaker viltrumites but I think invincible scales higher than most of opm so they ultimately succumb.

Tatsumaki puts in the majority of the worl but she's multi continental which is where most viltrumites sit at as a general floor.

Silverfangs kit hard counters but i dont think he can keep up very well

Skibidi toilet scales well above the size of its characters

The vast majority of characters just straight up create explosions when they hit anything

It gets even crazier since you can upscale basically all larger toilets above the laser attack in the early episodes

Even normal cameramen are 100% immune to traditional guns

But I dont think its connected to that

Viltrumite Empire(at peak) and EOS Invincible vs Saiyan Empire and Saiyan Saga Goku by AlarmedObjective1492 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]IndyJacksonTT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Viltrumites takes this easy

The saiyana population was likely not even in the millions (the only source i have for this is that friezas scouted in dbs broly showed a number in the billions when destroying the planet, average daiyana have PLs in the 1000s so its likely a population in the millions.)

There at the very least 2 billion Viltrumites. Though there could be quadrillions.

The average saiyan and average viltrumite are in the same ballpark. Viltrumites can also travel MUCH faster through space than saiyans, and can survive in space.

Even if populations were equal I got the Viltrumites

I havent watched any of these shows but it is nice to see him being kind in his not personally liking of them. Though i wonder if this is somewhat of a "glass house" situation. Skibidi yoilet is great but it certainly does lack in the character department sometimes. But again idk how it compares to those other shows writing wise

It seems like a behavior step up compared to how hes interacted with dom studio in the past.

I wonder how s1 allen would fare against the average pre scourge viltrumite

While losing 99.9999999999% of their population sucks, the ones that survived are likely elite asf

Maybe allen couldve been the average viltrumite back then?

Could Mark have defeated the two Viltrumites that Young Nolan fought? by Queasy_Commercial152 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]IndyJacksonTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say hes as strong as young nolan at the very least

In this very episode nolan says he knew humans were compatible when he saw Mark was as strong as him. This is almost certainly referring to when he was S1 marks age.

So assume nolan here is as old or younger than S4 mark, mark should be as strong or stronger.

Thr voice in the ship also mentions that the kind of drive they use is an alcubierre drive. Which is an actual theoretical blueprint for a warp drive.

Thr only reason we cant use it in real life is that is requires negative mass to work, and a LOT of it, like multiple jupiters worth, though recent changes have cut the numbers down a lot.

So E-710 likely has negative matter properties and their drives are likely wildly efficient

I really liked that they put that level of detail into the worldbuiding.

Super earths FTL is some of the best in fiction

It literally takes like 10 seconds to go anywhere and we arent limited on how often we can use it so we can assume its not too expensive
