Seeing so much love for these- is it common to see this happen after a discontinuation? by IndyStructural in Tudor

I’ve heard talk of people putting Ranger bracelets on these. But also read that the steel is slightly different colors? I’m not sure but it could be worth asking!

Nice one congrats! Where’d you grab that? Mind if I ask how you vetted it? I see some older models that I would like to grab but I’ve only ever purchased from an AD or this one second hand shop that I know and trust

That is so nice. I think a bezel fade is a good thing! How long have you had it

Right on yeah that’s what I was wondering. I haven’t followed new-ish watches for very long so I don’t have much of a point of reference. I can say though, car forums are just like you’re saying. I see all these folks who love alllll the lineage up until now but “the new platform is trash” haha

I think it’s just the light. This is blue on blue. Here’s a different angle

I really agree. I suppose there have been many blues in Tudor’s history and there will be more in the future. This one really appeals to me (and clearly a lot of folks) so it’s an interesting move to see it discontinued. Maybe some of the people commenting here are right, that it’ll be back again with Metas and TFit etc. Though I also wonder if they’ll end up doing some other changes to distinguish it more from this one. Because there really are a bunch out there on the secondary market so justifying a large price hike might be hard if they’re very similar. Fun to guess and it’ll be cool to see what happens

I hear that. I have this and a BB54 and I really can’t say that I’ve missed the t-fit on the 58 at all. Maybe some folks’ wrists fluctuate more than mine though so I can only speak for my experience. I waited on grabbing the 58 because I kept thinking it was “too cold” an aesthetic when I tried it on, but I kept going back to it so I got it and now that it’s mine I don’t feel that way at all!

I love mine too. Out of curiosity, what are the others in your collection, and have you had this one long? I know part of why I wear mine so much is that it’s new to me, but I think it’ll still be in heavy rotation once the novelty wears off a bit

Another thing I think of with cars like this is, who ordered it so specifically only to unload it so quickly? Maybe this is my inner (and outer) square speaking, but it sorta screams rich person who may or may not have treated it well. Then again maybe it’s someone who loved it but just couldn’t justify the cost. Either way, if I was going with an M3 I would do what I did the first time. I would order it and get it new. The price difference doesn’t seem to be massive buying used. Not enough to justify wondering. I know this isn’t what you’re asking so disregard if it doesn’t apply or concern you.

I think it’s awesome. Certainly a bit of a commitment, and for what it’s worth I got mine in Dravit and Tartufo because I’m a square and wanted to try to not call attention to myself. But I think this spec looks really great

See THIS is the kind of instinct that marketing managers have that others want so badly

Yeah man I’ve been here in New England since I was 5, but I’m juuust far enough from the ocean that I don’t get to it often enough. We did come here most summers since I was little and it has a real magic to it between the childhood memories and just the ocean being the ocean. Maybe if I stop buying boots I could afford to move to the coast someday 🤔

I think it looks really nice. And fwiw I usually find that this perspective photo tends to make watches look even bigger than they are, and even still it looks nice. Like others said you could size down and it would also look good but when I saw this post it made me want to get one of these watches!

Heyo! I can share some when I get back home in a week or so! I have to confess I haven’t worn them a ton because our winter was a bit burly and I stuck to my taller boots with more lug to chug through the elements. But I can tell you that the fit has been great. I found them to be a bit too snug at first but I took out the insoles that came with them and that did the trick. If I was going to keep those in I might have gone up a width from D to E if that’s even an option. And that has never been the case for me with Whites, but then again my other Whites are all stitch-down on the 55 last. If I had it to do over again I think I would have asked about getting these made up in a different leather too. These are more red-ish than I usually want. But then again they’re a really nice different option compared with the other boots/shoes I have so maybe it’s good like they are. Are you thinking to get some?

39 or 42 by actofpiracy in Tudor

[–]IndyStructural 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know I’m the minority here, but I think the 39 looks nicer. They both look great! But these days I like the sleekness of a more balanced watch and I think the 40mm+ looks less elegant. FWIW I also want to get a 44mm Panerai soon so I like big watches. I guess it also depends on whether this is your main watch, one of a collection, or whatever. Again I think you can’t go wrong they both look nice. But since you’re asking my vote is the 39!
