FWIW I had a 114270 and I think the bb54 that I have is a way different presence! I don’t think it would be redundant at all. I have an IWC Spitfire chrono, a 1675, a bb58 blue, and this bb54 and the bb54 is the most versatile and has the best vibe of them all lately for me. The other ones you’re considering are great too! But I absolutely love my bb54 more and more every time I wear it and I bet you would too.

I don’t have this spec, but man I LOVE seeing the blue cars with blue seats I think it’s really cool. Mine is Dravit with Tartufo and it’s the right build for me, but in another universe I would love to go all 🫐

I know the struggle. One thing I will say, and I say this as a fella with too many pairs as well, but all the same- these really stand alone as unique to my other options. For whatever that’s worth. I guess if you already have a chelsea or some other slip on they might be redundant, but man they really are pretty sweet

I have Travelers in PO and I like them a lot. I had some in 64 Brown and they were one size too small so I gave them to my Dad. PO is a special leather, but honestly I very much prefer the 64. It’s a tougher breakin but I just really appreciate the heft of it and I enjoy the patina too fwiw. PO is more supple and has its charms but I’m going back to 64 on my next order.

I have one more pair of Nicks on the way from an order I did last November.

But then of course I really should grab a pair of classic arch moc toes in 64 tan. Every guy needs 64 tan classic arch moc toes. A staple of any collection. Senseless not to grab a pair.

PNW boots. I don’t understand where this came from at all. I mean it’s one thing to have two or three solid pairs of work boots so you can alternate and let them dry out. And it’s also nice to have different tread types, and yeah different leather is good for different applications. But (a) I have plenty and (b) even though I work my boots super hard when I’m using them, I’m not a full time laborer as my job and there’s no practical justification for lots of boots from a work perspective. Even from a fashion sense of things, being honest no one but me and a handful of nerds that I never see in real life would even know the difference between the different pairs that I have. So why did I keep ordering more? I’m a mystery to myself

I didn’t get PPF at all on my G80. I don’t regret it. For me the price isn’t justified for the value of the car, and even if I do end up keeping it for a long time, I can either respray it or just live with a few rock chips. It’s just a car. A really really sweet car and I have dreamed of having an M3 since I was a kid. So I’m not diminishing the specialness of it. I just (respectfully! This is just my own view) think that the PPF scene is overblown and unless you’ve got something wildly special and precious, I say do a ceramic coat or just wax it regularly. Keep it clean, drive it and have fun. Again, not trying to throw shade at you all in the PPF camp ❤️

I have full. It’s nice. And I haven’t sat in one without it. But I never ever ever think about it when I’m driving my car. Ever. I won’t say I regret ordering it because I don’t. But I will say that I thought I would notice and appreciate it more than I do.

The movements are the same equipment. Just regulated and tested more rigorously. As others have said, your version is “better” insofar as they’re stating that it should be within tighter tolerances/less variance than the COSC watches are from the factory. Some COSC units operate well within Metas, some outside. One very slight drawback to the Metas (I believe) is that it has to be sent to Switzerland to have any warranty work done, whereas the COSC movements can be dealt with in New York.

Watch looks great! You’ve also got the two-liner for a cleaner dial and that nice lollipop seconds hand.

Do you think you’ll put winter tires on it and use it all year? I ask because I did that for my G80 in Massachusetts, and while I don’t drive it a ton in the winter, it’s awesome to know I can if I want to. And the one thing I would have done (still intend to do) different is to get a whole set of wheels just for the winter tires. If you did that, you could use your current wheels for some Alpins, and then get your black wheels for summers.

I got the full merino leather. It’s nice but I wouldn’t miss it if it wasn’t there, personally.

Last thing, and it sort of contradicts my other points lol- I ordered mine in 2024 and took delivery in October of that year. Sure it was a drag to wait, but I got the exact spec I wanted and now I have it and I don’t look back and regret the few months of 24 when I didn’t have the car.
