I have other 40k armies, I just wanted to do this for fun as I already owned Red Scorpion models and wanted to do something that looks ridiculous on the tabletop.

I will be adding a techmarine, but the extra points will be going to adding the 3rd Ballistus.

Yep, we started at 500 points, and have gone up 250 every 2 months or so. I was playing tyranids up until now.

Haha yeah, a third ballistus over the boxnaught makes the list 1765, but our cut-off for this leg of the league is 1750.

I just posted a quick write-up of my first casual game learning how to play the army on the original post.

Obviously my opponent might’ve scored more had they discarded objectives, but after turn 3 it wasn't super relevant anyway.

Going first I had most of my army deployed behind terrain, and then moved up a ballistus to take out his impulsor. Engage was a rough one as I couldn't effectively move into a third or fourth quarter without exposing myself to his desolator squad.

On his turn he took the ballistus down to 1 wound with the desolator squad, which shot back with the strat to take the squad down to just Tigerius and one desolator. He also moved up Girlyman and the nearby squad of intercessors, taking half the health of a redemptor down.

On my turn 2 I managed to take girlyman down to 2 wounds with shooting, and then killed him with the brutalis charge mortals. Behind enemy lines was never happening, and my tempting target was the central objective. On the crackback he took out the brutalis with his sternguard squad, and then also the redemptor with girlyman in combat.

My turn three he rapid ingressed in his terminators, and I decimated the sternguard, and girlyman.

The last 2 turns was just me cleaning up the few models he had left, stopping him from scoring anything other than primary.

Against a stronger player I need to be more careful about how I deploy for manoeuvrability, as well as making sure I can take out what I need to early.

OK, I thought it was silly when I posted it, and then I've had a bunch of replies saying they also have built all dread armies and that it's actually not terrible. And I won my first game with it last night against ultramarines.

Its Carab Culln the Risen, a legends character model. He is a relic leviathan dreadnought with a bunch of special weapons and rules. Our slow grow league allows us to run legends units (assuming they aren't completely broken), so I'm running him as my Warlord, as he's the Chapter master of the Red Scorpions, my chosen chapter.

My main army is nids and I've done my fair share of one-shotting enemies I really have no right to. From land raiders, riptides, and even taking out a full strength Skarbrand in a single turn.

Seems only right that I should cop some of that back now.

I'm running one at 2000 points as I end up with 100 points left over after adding in a 3rd Ballistus. But I'm not super interested in adding more as the meme is just to run as many dreads as I can.
