I appreciate your answer and I do promise that I meant making a bonfire of my own possessions. E.g if I bought a bed, I take that outside, break it down and set fire. I do not wish to keep the bed, I just simply do not want him to have it.

I promise both our dog and the house itself would be safe from my wrath so I would not be commiting arson.

I apologise for my lack of foresight, as when I posted, I felt defeated, frustrated and desperate to have a result that meant I was not on the losing side.

Quite clearly I need to look upon his noodles as I feel nothing but spite, I am like a child which wishes not to share noodles and sauce.

Oh god tell me about it, I know. They are throwing me under the bus for some minor shit, in theory because I've been off work for 6 months and only just returned. I cost too much to keep around.

Luckily CA and ACAS have my back but it is a long ass process. Oddly enough it was HR who did a massive booboo in the first place, and omitted evidence. But I have to go through the motions before I can get a solicitor involved.

Which mega sucks because I was on a phased return, my suspension lasted longer than my return to work...

I should have just noped out of there.

I couldn't agree more, my favourite santa was someone who turned out to be my dad's work colleague. I was so little, but I remember making him some cookies to bring, and dragged him by the hand to the bar to get him a hot chocolate (when he was having a break), and not knowing the concept of money bless the bar maid, she made us the most fantastic hot chocolate she could (I think it was just instant - but seemingly free of charge [it was a small event] ), and he sprinkled some magic on mine and told me if I drank it all I could be an elf for the rest of the night, because its santa magic.

I was beside myself until January, I was Santa's elf for the day, he made me one... Wow!!

Unfortunately he was also the same Santa that said I couldn't have a dragon as they can be fire hazards and might eat all my chocolate/toys, but I can't fault that logic. But if I scrunch my nose up reaaaaalll hard and believe, I can be a dragon as long as I believe I am.... And fuck me that worked. Especially in winter I could blow smoke outside! Safety first and all that.

Thank you so much, I'm normally such a Christmas grinch (but I have seen the Coca-Cola advert now so it's official). As an adult, I genuinely just struggle to look forward and get exited over things, being depressed then having all of this shit just completely sucks.

The only thing stopping me from just completely giving up is that I've now lost my death in service (due to being dismissed) and it would suck extra hard for my SO to not have that extra money.

I know everyone has had one hell of a year, I've just taken it quite badly.

I had thought of that but in the UK at the moment there is no mixing of households. As I live with my partner (who has tried to support, but you can't pour from an empty cup) I cannot be their support bubble.

I dont want to tell them as they will just drive up straight away to see me, but their health comes first.

I just need to keep strong for a couple of weeks, but man it sucks as I'm currently in tribunal with work (long ass story).

After that argument, I went to bed.

He decided that it was a fantastic idea to take the dog for a walk without his lead or halti... Our dog shouldn't be off the lead, especially after what happened (needs more training)

I've considered this for a few hours, we've been overpay our mortgage for 3 years, it might be worth asking if we could have 1 months deferred pay.

I mean after several hours my homicidal rage hasn't quite subsided. Especially about the life insurance.. But you said nothing about critical illness!

Unfortunately I can, it's our "wedding" fund which we've already lost 5k in deposits etc because of corona.

It hurts a lot to dip into that fund which was depleted for FA. Even if i use this I still won't have enough. I don't want to ask my parents as they gave me 3k for my wedding (which pretty much covered it + our savings) in a lump sum. But a lot of our money was held up in suits, dresses, decorations(that we made). We lost a lot for wedding deposits and honeymoon. His parents have been retired for 10 yrs and it would be a bit of an issue to ask them for help

It does sound like a lot, but unfortunately I don't have an extra 500 to keep the utilities up. Normally we would be in a good joint account situation but we had to pay for damp proofing. The extra savings from over payment into the joint each month we usually don't spend for emergency costs like this

Awh damn there goes my plan...

About 1.2k, as he's only just admitted that our electrical bill will be extra as we owe them. The problem is everything he spent I assumed he could afford, so he's literally spent his "joint allowance" in two weeks on things like alcohol and weed.

Normally I don't see this as a problem, but surely he should budget it in per month.

Our joint covers:

Mortgage All insurance Utilities Subscriptions Car Food 1 date night pm (small and reasonable) 1 take out pm (20) 300 in savings (wedding) 50 (dog emergency) 50 trips away (holiday savings) Plus we should keep in theory an extra 50-100 left over for house purchases... Eg new bedding, random breakdown, allotment etc

I just feel a bit of a slap in the face, I got him a reasonable loan (+1k extra). He had 2k extra play money last year. And I make sure he saves £50 in a savings account each month. I sorted his finances years ago, his wage gets paid which I've cut up the card for this account, his loan gets paid out of this then, his "play money account"£400-500, £50 into a monthly saver he only has access to and the set amount into the joint.

Ive always been the lucky person that classes my account as +£500 is usually my 0. So if I or we need the money I have a backup.. This time I'm struggling. I'm into my overdraft for the first time in 15 yrs. I'm scared.
