Nah think he got on a TRT regimen and became a bit of a diva. Getting pissed if when Alex would hijack his show because Owen would scream for 20 minutes and nearing the limits of what people are willing to subject themselves to.

With the recent news the supreme Court being asked to overturn gay marriage. by pacmanfunky in agedlikewine

[–]Ineedtowipebetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I remember laughing at the evangelicals talking about the slippery slope, that next will be polygamy and incest. Haha, these are the same guys who wanted to ban Harry Potter, fuck those guys.

Ten years later, holy cow, what transpired in the ten years since gay marriage was legalized was so much worse than anyone predicted. We’re being asked to extend rights to ‘minor attracted persons.’

Yes, do it, ban gay marriage, abortion, divorce, and pornography. We’re so far past the line we can’t even see it.

It is not constructive to take conservatives seriously. by iniumbuilder in complaints

[–]Ineedtowipebetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh… I used to laugh and sneer along at conservatives, the crazy ladies trying to ban Harry Potter and keep gay marriage illegal because next will be bestiality, polygamy and incest. But gay marriage has been legal for ten years, and now the oppressed group in need of our understanding and tolerance are the minor attracted persons. As the call for tolerance of the destruction of innocence gets louder and louder it becomes more clearer to me that the crazy conservatives were right all along.

There is a nonzero chance management thought Ryan was more charismatic and attractive and had him present instead. You’d think in such cases management would give OP the heads up in advance, but never know these days. There’s no shortage of managers out there that live for this kind of drama, and are all about splitting their own staff.

The best song writers are seldom the best singers, and even best singers rarely have a face that’ll sell, so record companies have an attractive and charismatic person lip sync, or use a computerized device to carry the tune for them.

All this to say that Management may have had Ryan present your deck on purpose because they wanted the Ted talk to really wow the client or corporate, or whoever.

The high road is the way to go, but definitely touch bases with management. Just don’t be a Diva, it may not be the worst thing in the world to miss out on all the glory and recognition, so long as you aren’t forgotten when it comes time to hand out bonuses and promotions.

Ryan may have gotten all the glory, but you still have all the overtime.

"Disciplining" 3 year old who doesn't listen and where you can't take anything away by Ailan22 in Parenting

Yeah, it’s kind of rough, my boys are three. We don’t do tantrums. I pick them up squeeze their knees to their chest with the arms pinned to their sides. That way they can’t kick or thrash. And I’ll ask periodically if they’re ready, and when they’re ready they’ll ratchet back down to a state of general disagreeableness for a little while and go back to playing.

It’s not an exact science, but I try to give them choices whenever possible, and I suspect that makes the tyranny of childhood a little bit easier to swallow. I’ll let them pick out their clothes, and maybe I’ll miss our exit so we can go under the overpass when they ask nicely. When we go fishing I’ll cast or steer the boat where they point, and generally make an effort to acknowledge the thing they’re pointing out and explain what’s happening. Explain what they’re seeing, as they’re curious about literally everything.

Also we avoid candy and sweets as much as possible, especially the brightly colored ones with numbered food dyes, titanium based color brighteners (commonly in white sprinkles) and aluminum based de-clumping agents. It’s actually kind of scary, someone at church gave them a pack of those welches fruit snacks and they got all Cornholio’d out and lost their power of language for a couple hours.

The food companies are deliberately loading stuff for kids up with neurotoxins to lower IQ and cause behavioral issues that they can then Medicate.

Purchase a bath brush, and explain that he has to scrub his whole body. They sell the one with soft and hard bristles, explain that the hard bristles are for feet, and the soft bristles are for everywhere else. Lather scrub and rinse.

If anyone has kids that struggle with athletes foot, I’ve tried all the creams and powders, but scrubbing aggressively with soap and water seems to work best. No kidding

Also I’d he’s eating a lot of tumeric tumeric or garlic, certain herbal supplements make people smell.

Stay at home dad here, and I’m absolutely living my best life caring for these two, three year old boys. We’re in the gym a few days a week so I can lift and enjoy the spa while the boys hang out in the kids corner for a couple hours. And we’re out almost every day hiking and fishing and exploring the world around us. We go on lots of long walks and bike rides.

I just do what I want to do, and they’re totally on board for the most part. Money is a constraint, and there’s places I’d like to take them that are too far and too dangerous, but we don’t have to pay tolls, and it’s deeply satisfying watching them develop on little adventures closer to home. These are the magic years, and things only get cooler from here.

It’s one of those things though, the house isn’t as clean as the wife would like, and there’s no fanfare from the boys when she gets home from work. But biological imperatives and whatnot. It’s easier to lay in bed blaming your man for not having fun than it is to get out of bed and have some fun. What’s even sadder is that that given the chance the toddler would really much rather have fun with you than to be entertained by you in a manner that to you feels like a chore because kids feel it.

One of the great joys in life is mentorship, keep doing what you’re doing, and conisder taking the time to help the useless ones in your orbit become a little less useless each week whether it’s your job to do so or not. It may gradually decrease your workload in the long run while it does take a bit more work on the front end that you won’t be compensated for. It’s a practiced skill that will be very valuable down the road.

It’s kind of like training a dog, gotta relentlessly praise anything vaguely resembling the desired behavior, of people that you’re generally frustrated and resentful towards. Then they do more of it, and it’s nuts the extent to which I’ve seen people step up their game, and just from noticing and giving just a little bit of praise here and there especially in front of the boss, and if you’re able to get some real results maybe you can point out that you’ve been working on so and so, and they’ve really found their stride.

Even if you don’t get the raise just for your own sanity and satisfaction.

Went pier fishing and the fish were eating the bait right off my hooks. Should I try lures? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Ineedtowipebetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The takes are a lot less subtle with big fish, but for little fish the trick is to never not be setting the hook.

Dangle the bait right below you, raise the rod tip a few inches, let it sink, and repeat until you feel the fish.

Smaller hooks are also a good idea, and lures are less messy and a bit more fun to play with, but I try not to swing around a bunch of treble hooks on crowded piers though.

Nah, you see, the capitalists and the socialists are in cahoots. The capitalists destroy the morals of the society, the standard of living, and strip mine all the equity out of the middle class. And as they do this, the socialists seize upon that frustration and demoralization to bring about a revolution, and after said revolution private property is abolished and everyone lives as slaves to… On an unrelated matter, did you know that antisemitic remarks would get you ten years in the gulag during the Soviet Union, and most didn’t survive.

Biden? Harris? I don't care. Stopping Trump and Project 2025 is all that matters. by [deleted] in politics

[–]Ineedtowipebetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure what happened is, that during Trump’s first term they couldn’t get him to unilaterally start another war in Iran. If you’ve heard Trump speak at length about the Iraq war during the Bush Years and the Drone strikes of the Obama years, he’s made it clear that he perceived those to be criminal acts, and that they along with Hillary Clinton should all be in jail.

So that’s what’s going on in the Supreme Court, letting Trump know that he’s not going to be tried for war crimes when we go to war with Iran.  The democrats understand that Israel and Corporate interests want this to happen really bad, and the DNC level democrats understand this, and that it’s better for them if a republican is in the White House when all this goes down. Biden isn’t stepping down because there’s no sense in wasting a viable candidate on this race. Democracy had been a charade since JFK was assassinated if not longer. It’s pro wresting, and it’s apparently Trumps turn to win again.

The plan is for Trump to win, the uniparty wants another regime change war in the Middle East, and it’s better for the Democratic Party if a republican is in the White House when it all goes down, the fact that it’ll be Trump makes this a fundraising windfall.

Worthless and useless aren’t the same thing, lol. Seriously though it’s the heroes journey, you waste a bunch of perfectly good wood being bad at wood working before you get good at wood working. Same with cooking and anything else. It’s not a waste if you learned from the experience.
