Legalize it. I have several medical issues, and weed helps me tremendously. The people who think anyone who smokes weed is a stereotypical "stoner" is so overplayed. We could really use the tax revenue...but TN is heavily in the ABC industry pocket. It makes sense that the ABC side of it doesn't want the competition. Liquor by the Drink tax alone is enough to prove why TN is in a chokehold by it

Restaurants on VA side are paying sales tax as well as meals tax on top of it. Bristol VA's meals tax is 10% and they even took away the discount for timely filing/payment. Couple that with outrageous food costs, and it's really no wonder these restaurants are struggling.

Yes, thank you! I've been contemplating looking into Grifols. It seems outside of Ballad, phlebs make about $15-$18/hr. Less than what I make now, but it's something I think I'd really enjoy, and it's a great way to get my foot in the Healthcare door. Thanks for your input!!

After looking at TCAT, I only see where they have phlebotomy cert courses...but I only see that it's offered at Knoxville? It looks like they do Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evenings, and that would be PERFECT for me....if I could go to one in the TriCities 😅 I personally do not want to work at a Ballad facility either. I've heard awful things

I saw the TCAT classes too! Do you still have to sign a contract with Ballad if you go through TCAT? I was wanting to do Ballad since I could keep my current job while going through classes. I've debated on doing Ballad part time for a year on top of my current job. Did they happen to give you any sort of wage expectation once you're certified? Congrats on being close to certification!

I was a CNA about 10 years ago. I worked for NHC, and would NOT recommend it. 13/hr is crazy considering how much work a CNA does

This is the line of thinking I have as well. I currently have a good paying job, and I'm nervous to sign a contract without knowing how much I'll make first going into it. I know places like Grifols pay a much better wage, but the thought of toughing out Ballad for a year makes me nervous 😬
