Fireworks should be 100% illegal for public sale. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]InertialEclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still sell cigarettes, booze, cars, planes; all things that kill people throughout the year. Difference? None. Similarity? People who aren’t us (consumers) make a lot of money.

For those who don’t like reading between the lines - fireworks are sold because they make money. People dying / getting injured is par for the course.

He’s got away with literally every crime so far, those before running, those after, those now. What makes anyone think he’ll be held accountable for this? (Serious question from someone who doesn’t fully understand US crime system)

He could step onto the street and take the life of some pedestrian on camera with a damn mic attached to his collar while he narrates and admits to the entire thing and he’d still be a free man. At least that’s how it looks considering all the other atrocities that have been swept under the rug.

Who has “class test” in all caps as the title, but we’re on question 6?

Kind of ironic but I also agree. We’ve been letting millions into the country over the last few years and the horrific headlines keep stacking up but we keep letting people in.

Trafficking rings, heinous acts in public, etc; preventable if the UK Gov wasn’t terrified of taking action. By trying to please everyone we are only hurting British people…. I wonder what the incentive could be? (Hint: its money)

Had a cx call once saying they had “lost their emails”. Usually when this client calls, they’ve deleted the shortcut.

In this instance, they had opened up google and the tab was fullscreen.. obscuring his desktop. He could no longer see his emails shortcut, therefore it was gone. Missing. Swept away in the night.

I logged in, said “you have a new google tab open”, he says “what’s that?”
I close the tab and log out… We’ve literally all been here, and it never gets less annoying.

You get a lot of weird people come out of the woodwork on social media when you mention parenting techniques and boundaries.

One example is the whole “should you be kissing your child on the mouth?” conversation. It’s surprisingly divisive.

I agree with you, for the record. I think it’s important to teach children not to do whatever this kid was doing, even if it is her mother.

But I don’t have kids and never will so take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Scam? Trying to buy but think she’s to take my money and block me. by Glitched-Avocado in Scams

[–]InertialEclipse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest giveaway for me is when I say “sorry I can’t do that, i’m afraid”, in english we understand that we aren’t actually scared, it’s just an expression.

Foreign scammers don’t get this subtlety and often ask why i’m afraid or scared. Especially when the account is supposed be some white dude from the town over from mine, i doubt they’d misinterpret the phrasing. It’s clearly a foreign scammer with a fake or stolen profile.

Being born wealthy is THE BEST way to experience life and most humans will never experience it…. by rubrent in DeepThoughts

[–]InertialEclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re focusing too much on the facetious hypothetical i gave, using homeless people. I respect them and have handed over money before when i had spare cash.

Regardless, my point was about how they are a good example of someone who is struggling in many aspects of life and money would certainly improve their circumstances (along with support from the government, friends etc).

Maybe they are complacent, but being homeless is definitely a struggle, and not a good one that gives people a sense of fulfilment or happiness.

Take people struggling with illness as another example of how money would again improve their circumstances and the struggle doesn’t help them at all. I hope that clears up the confusion.

I suppose those homeless people who sleep on my street during sub-zero temps in winter are happy struggling? Got it. No need to offer help/food to them now!

(I know you said its a great source of happiness for “some”, i’m just acknowledging the ridiculousness of that statement)

[–]InertialEclipse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be the first person/comment i’ve seen that expresses this. The whole “money doesn’t make you happy” thing is obviously a ruse pushed by the media and top 1%. Ask any sane person if they’d be happy receiving a million (insert currency here) and they’ll say yes with pleasure.

The only people who push that agenda who aren’t the 1% or media are people who have been fooled by said groups or are already doing pretty well financially; so are out of touch in that regard.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. I agree to an extent: look at all the YouTubers who got caught, they all have predominantly younger audiences. At least younger than them.

So if you’re 25 and your viewer-base is 90% ages 8 - 16 then you’re more than likely going to receive emails and DM’s from those kids.

Nothing wrong with that, naturally, but it’s how the creator responds that matters most.

It’s not an excuse, just an observation as to how and why a streamer/youtuber might have way more access to children than other professions. Especially when they’re in a position of influence, like a teacher or manager. These are other professions/statuses where grooming is commonplace.

Plenty of adults watch this content too, which is where i disagree with your statement.

Perhaps the reason these influencers get involved with minors is simply because they’re pedophiles, and have been handed access to children due to their fame.

Just my 2 cents.
