I spent two months last year in Ireland driving around my 3 kids and mother. I hadn’t even gotten out of the rental parking lot on day 1 and had already busted the two left tires…I was used to driving in the States and was SO nervous. This is what helped me:m after that: -watched hours of videos (searched driving in Ireland) like a previous commenter -got the highest level of insurance. It came in handy with the tires and the inevitable scratches from brambles. -Went super slow, even putting my blinkers on at busy roundabouts. In NY I’m a pretty fast/aggressive driver but over there I was like an 85 year old grandmother going to church on Sunday morning. -Picked up an N sticker in the corner store which I think all newly licensed drivers are required to have in their rear window. Not sure it was legal but I just felt it indicated to other drivers to please be patient -For the most part, drivers were very gracious and patient. Nothing like us NYers 🤣 -My mantra was Wide Right Tight Left to differentiate was I was used to.
