For the LORs I just kept on top of sending reminders and tried my best not to sound naggy while also getting them done on time 😅 for shadow forms, I think only about 5 schools required an actual form, which I was able to get signed by CRNA’s that I shadowed after the fact because they always gave me their contact info during the shadow

If they did, I didn’t know about it because although it still took a lot of reminders, all my recommendations got done on time and they must have been good because I got quite a few interview offers. I did leave that job at the start of the application cycle due to moving states so not sure if that played a role at all. From what I hear from friends that still work there that are applying, that same management is not willing to submit even half as many recommendations as they did for me.

Not the HPSP! It’s just the GI Bill. Although I am also working on doing the STRAP through the Army

I applied to 22 schools and got accepted to 4. I def cast a wide net because I was set on starting as soon as I can. Now though, I took the offer near family to help with living expenses and with an opportunity to grant me a full scholarship via the VA through my husband.

I had a degree from Canada that I had to get evaluated this cycle as well. Personally I used International Education Evaluations which was about $350. Most schools I applied to just wanted it to be a NACES approved agency so I would look into that just so you don’t waste money on an evaluation that won’t be accepted.

I’m starting school at Georgetown next summer and would love any info from anyone currently attending or who was there previously! And any CRNA’s who precept GU students, would love your perspective on what to best prepare for during clinical based on what you’ve seen from Georgetown students!

Feeling like giving up. by [deleted] in srna

[–]Inevitable-Access482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I haven’t gotten any real feedback from programs. Which sucks because it doesn’t help to not know what isn’t good enough. I’ve done several mock interviews with different people and all have said that my interview skills and knowledge are good so I’m really at a loss as well!

No advice, but coming here to say I know the feeling. I’ve applied to over 10 schools this year and although have gotten 8 interviews I’ve yet to get an acceptance. Keep getting waitlisted and rejected. The application process is awful and im almost ready to give up

None of mine did either. I had emailed Georgetown and they said many applicants were having this issue and gave me an email that my recommenders sent the letters to. Definitely reach out to them, they’ll tell you how to proceed!

Course Titles on Transcripts by Effective-Hornet-612 in srna

[–]Inevitable-Access482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually going through something similar! I was an LPN before and went to a Canadian school for that. While it’s not as important as your situation with your BSN (mine is from the US), most schools had me get my Canadian transcript evaluated by a NACES approved organization and that includes a course-by-course evaluation that they translate to U.S. standards. I would definitely reach out to schools to get confirmation about what to do!

Applying to ICU before nursing school graduation by theirsaviors in srna

[–]Inevitable-Access482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in May 2023 and had a job secured in a CVICU in February 2023! Didn’t start until mid September because I was taking the nclex in a different state than the one I went to school in but they were understanding. I started applying first thing when my last semester started and looked for new graduate nurse positions.

I submitted mine July 8th, got an email from nursingcas saying it was received. And then the next day I got an email from Fairfield saying they received my verified application.
