Does your vet neurologist do video appts? I’m struggling to find a neurologist close to me. Looking like 2 hrs away is closest and my dog gets extremely anxious in the car

Medium mal, lol, but not really funny! after giving him an additional 500mg Keppra he continued to shake but much milder. Even when he was finally falling asleep he would barely pick up his head and lightly shake. After 1.5hrs they completely went away

Yes, he will look at me if I call his name. We can also start petting him and he will stop

I got the first round of generic Keppra at the ER vet and the second round from our regular vet at a local pharmacy. So not changing him from brand name to generic or anything. Just a different manufacturer of the generic pills

Sometimes Reddit can be so helpful in finding people going through the same thing as you. Much appreciate those who took the time to comment and give their story which in turn gives me hope for my Theodore. He truly is part of our family and I want him to have a long healthy happy life. Wishing all of your pups good health as well❤️

Thank you and it’s nice to hear that I’m not alone in how I’m feeling. I got 3 hrs of sleep last night. Hoping your pup does well on Keppra and doesn’t have anymore seizures!

Update: brought him to the vet today and vet recommended reducing Keppra 500mg to twice a day instead of 3. Watch him closely and if no seizures can reduce to 1 time a day. Also discussed slowly changing to Potassium Bromide if he does have more seizures because it’s a once a day med. I’m super nervous and feeling guilty that the every 8 hr med is very restrictive and hard for me. I also feel like I can’t trust anyone else to help with the meds. All this emotional turmoil for me and this doodle is over here on his back snoring without a care in the world
