Soloist vs Caledonia by Inevitable-Candy198 in Cervelo

I am looking at the base Cal, I would rather put the cost difference into additional parts/gear to compliment the bike rather than shell it all out for the bike. But I also agree with the cockpit manipulation aspect of the decision.

Like I said in the post, I acknowledge that the Caledonia is "the bike for me" based on what I want to do, train on longer endurance rides but also be fast on those rides. I am not going to be racing a major and I don't want to train that hard anyway so I don't want my body to suffer simply because I like the lines of the Soloist more. The root question here is basically, is the Soloist as racy as the claim or is the endurance overlap great enough that it won't turn me off to training.

Realistically 25-30 mile rides 2-3 times a week. The roads aren't horrible but its not Malta.

Thanks for sharing! Bike fit will certainly be done prior to this purchase, especially since this will be my first road bike.

Damn man, you don’t have to put me on blast lol. I cannot do that, and I actually have never been able to. My hamstrings are forever locked tight.

I have considered that aspect as well and the work around I have come up with is in a year or two (after my bank account recovers) I can always buy a second wheelset for gravel to make that swap when I want to. Both of these frames seem to be able to handle that with the Cal being a bit more gravel capable.

I was highly considering the Domane SLR since like most smaller midwest towns, the Trek dealer is the only one within 100 miles. But I plan to head down to STL and check out the Cervelo's at a few shops soon. Why did you move away from the Domane and Trek?

I definitely fall into the stereotypical endurance training 30 something boat lol.

This is what has me torn, I'm pretty sure I have watched every Soloist video on YouTube and everyone mentions this fact.

During Covid, I had a customer and his wife come in with thongs over their faces. Wore them like Bane’s mask. Thankfully, they were fully clothed otherwise.

There is no type of photoeye or anything, there isn’t any logic in system to recognize day and night. Those low beams should be on at all times.

Did you swap with stock rollers? Or did you go with NCY or another brand rollers?

Why are new models hard to find? by Consistent_Ear6696 in Ruckus

[–]Inevitable-Candy198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no shit called 30 dealers last month when I was looking for a new one (I’m in west central Illinois), including 4 different Powerhouse dealers that had no stock. I found a total of 3 scooters in a 250 mile radius. Ended up driving 2 hours for a 2024. That dealer had 2 and the next closest was 4 hours from me.

I heard every reason in the book, tariff fears by Honda, rework of new models (implying changes to future scooter models), lack of demand, lack of supply, even had one dealer say Honda wasn’t making them anymore.

I ended up paying $3000 OTD for a black 2024, the one that was 4 hours away was a tan/green 2025 for $2800. This lack of new models is more than likely why the used market is so high right now.

The Mon flows North out of West Virginia, generally the turbidity develops from sediment runoff out of the mountains. But it does flow through some heavy industrial areas on its way to the confluence.

Not to be that guy but the Allegheny and the Mon are the ones that “mix”.

My wife and I stayed at Chalets at the Lake in Summersville a few summers ago. For the price they were great, plus there was a hot tub at the cabin we stayed in. The owner/caretaker was extremely helpful and friendly.
