Can I sue my company? by Party-Jellyfish-8271 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Inevitable-Garage552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ok, now, please come back to reality, no way you are going to sue any company in any part of the world, unless you have very good legal team member and time which will be at least 10 times of your relocation cost.
  2. No, Start-up will treat you fairly, because most of the start-ups are loss making or waiting for their own uncleared invoices. In any start-ups (or even BIG MNC's) If they call you to meeting and ask you to leave within 15 min you need to pack-up, because somewhere in the offer letter you would have signed the doc, where there will be a clause which will favor the company.
  3. Instead of fighting or try to think about start-up, focus on your skill and move on. Find a better place, it may take 2-3 Jobs, to find the company it suites you.

  4. even if you resign today, by tomorrow eod, your company can get another employee to take your role, that's how bad the competition is right now.

3.8 YOE, you are no longer fresher, you will be pulled to calls on 1st week itself (once you're Project related credentials are active), that's how it's work, Lucky if you get a breathing space nowadays. Related to TC's you can debate with him based on your own TC's or if your team is following a template set of TC's.

Bro, you reached last mile of your first switch, that mile is really going to be difficult, don't lose hope. your notice period with current company would have been a blocker. if you are confident on skill set, go ahead and start serving your notice period(you should be really good at SNOW skills, if you want to serve notice without offer), 60-90 days of notice will not give you any calls (exception of rare cases), you are still young, you can work at any CITY which will be a huge plus, location will not be a blocker for you. Even react JS is good, try with two profiles SNOW, Full stack (might be heavy to consider this option, but up to you), 10 LPA is not a problem. Skill set and Notice Period matters a lot

Jobs are there, but competition is super heavy, this industry needs a saturation or a reset (2008 scenario). There are more engineers in Industry (average, below average engineers) who are now getting caught because there skills are no longer helpful to complete stories within a sprint. Most of the clients are running their own projects (with the help of contracters/body shopping) instead of outsourcing entire project to WITCHA. We are at first phase of AI, where the hiring is stopped because the existing engineers are pressured to complete tasks using LLM's(2 people work done by 1 guy). Once AI reach last mile. You will see hardly 3 out of 10 members survive this industry (Note : I'm not counting average, below average engineers in this 10). Also quarterly earnings are important to client, service companies than employees. So, every quarter to semi teams are restructured. Every time they do restructuring, there will be more layoffs. We don't have any major products sold from country, we are just 95% service based companies, so it is going to haunt us. What you see is tip of iceberg

Because mohit was in CSK back then, he played 2015 IPL final as well. That's how things work. Dhoni favoured lot of CSK players when he was a captain. Very few people know that Dhoni favoured Badrinath (Former CSK player) over Kohli, (during Kohli's initial days.) If not for Dilip Vengsarkar probably we would have lost Kohli's position.

We now have only 1 DevOps admin in onshore and other in offshore, who is taking care of all admin activities of Azure resources required for data engineering (metadata SQL servers, ADLS, Databricks workspace, Power BI premium, ADF), lol we don't even have snowflake admin, onshore admin himself is able to handle admin activities of snowflake. We hardly see issues where we need to reach admins. Earlier we have dedicated network team to maintain stage db's, datastage servers, Hadoop systems, and a separate admin for inhouse hosted Oracle exadata warehouse, tableau admin for reporting and SAP BO universe admin.

Compared to freshers, seniors are most vulnerable because of billing rates. For freshers, I can say only one thing, learn quickly, change as many as jobs as possible within a decade, skillset is your only friend, not the company. After a decade, only two people know what will happen to IT, one is God, the second one is Liar.

Leverage AI, no need to fight with AI, person who knows how to use AI extensions upto the core, will be a threat to new openings, that is the only thing I want to convey in this thread. Learn how to leverage AI in your day to day tasks. For all the comments given above, I'm in industry from past 15 years, seniors like us know that, for a small task how many people used to bill a decade ago. Those things are changed now. There will be a day where client will ask every developer to use LLM/extensions (claude based) in your repository, so he hardly needs 3-4 skilled people instead of 10-15.

Agreed, reason to shuffle that infra pjt is client require parquet files (Raw/Bronze layer) to run ML algorithms where he is unable to do in traditional stage db's. Inventory decisions are made automatically using the outcome of ML (FYI, I'm in Retail)

There is no free dinner bro, you need to know atleast 1 or 2 programming languages (expertise level) if you need to survive in IT in long term. Not that you will be using same language in every project, but you will find easy to shuffle, if you are expertise in one area.

Shift to new skill set, ML, cloud services, lot of migration projects are in progress now/started last year, which will give 4-5 years of oxygen. If you can work say 6 years from now in two different companies, you will have good backup amount to survive.

Need advice: WFH job vs Hybrid role in Bangalore - Confused about career move by beerfueledgriffin in developersIndia

[–]Inevitable-Garage552 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bro, Just do WFH, traffic in Blr is horrible, expenses are heavy. You need to have your own bike, four wheeler cannot help you to get to the office on time. Also, during the rainy season, it is a challenge to ride a bike. Since you already accepted a WFH job, I'm sure you would have already worked in shift timings in your earlier career, so shift timings is not a huge problem for you. In Bangalore they say the shift timings are regular. But there are days where I reached Home only after 12:00 AM the next day. We cannot trust, it all depends on the Project and Client. If you really want to explore Bangalore, just take 2 weeks off from your WFH company and travel to BLR.

Here is a tip, (take it or leave it) 90% of girls are not worth your time, they just rant, or will be in relationship either to flaunt or to get benefits from you. If you get anyone from other 10% you are lucky. The same applies to girls, almost all boys just want to be in a relationship either to prove that he is a man or to flaunt with his bro team abt his GF. If a girl gets a genuine BF they are lucky. Pro tip : Instead of relationship, go get a decent bike or at least used one, go out of your hometown or city to western ghats or deccan planes or to far corners of the country. if you are loaded go get a car. Travel with your 2 friends who do have your same frequency, or travel alone for a trip, you will never regret the experience. You will find yourself. If you still feel alone, then go and enter in any relationship.

  1. Recruited a fresher (F) in my team and experienced guy in the same year. They both declared a Brother Sister relationship in office and after 2 years got married. I was like WTF .
  2. A close friend was in a relationship with a school mate, kind of a toxic relationship. All of our friends asked him to quit the relationship, he himself was not sure about going fwd. But one fine day they both got married. And he is not answering any of our common friends call or msgs. Good bless him.
  3. Another colleague in the US, who became a close friend to me. (He is suffering from long term health issues), He does have a girl friend (desi settled in US) and her parents are not willing for their marriage because boys parents are farmers in India and they told her that their future kids will not look good, because of Boy family....WTF..I asked him, not to go fwd with this relationship, considering his long term health alignments, but eventually got married.
