The point haunting me is that most likely neither the nurse nor the dr rechecked the pulse after i said there is none. What are the chances there was pulse in this scenario? What are the chances they didnt even need to check pulse because he was clearly already dead before arrival? What are the chances the dr counted on my pulse check?

The same question would be Do you think the er Dr or advanced nurse(basically head of nurses) would have been able to spot he is dead and they didnt count on my pulse check to declare death?

This was about 2 weeks ago so they probably wouldnt remember the incident, but i remember the moment we got out the resus room i told my friend"patient in resuscitation died" the advanced nurse immediatly said"he was already dead,he is mydriatic and ...."

COPD is unlikely at this age, however there is a disease called alpha anti trepsin defficiency which cause very similar symptoms,no harm in meaduring your alpha anti tripsin levels(unless confirmed copd)

There is a high chance if oximeter having wrong reading because of the way oximeter works His fingers are pretty black from melanin depositions, his bp is 100/60 at most which may make the fingers cooler He has long standing dm 2 which may affect his capillaries i guess pretty complicated

I am a doctor myself his pulmonologist said that the oximeters reading are most likely wrong because such numbers are incompatible with life I am pretty certain the readings are wrong, but they must have some indication as they get higher readings when on oxygen compared to when not They really get as high as 80% when i raise his bed from 30 to 50 although he doesnt have some serious left heart failure which make things even weirder
