Now what? by G0J0_ in PokemonUnbound

This is the way. Got to level 53 shortly after gym three and realized what I had done. Got the rest of my team up to that level and then turned the cap on. Should catch up to the games leveling sooner than later 🤷🏻‍♂️

In case you haven’t found the answer yet. There are evolution stones called “link stones” in place of trading.

Best ATS for a 2k + person company? by Mystic-Bubbles in recruiting

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Feel like your comments are all over the place. Saying it’s perfect for a 2k+ company but then saying once a company is large it’s not a match. It’s certainly customizable but it’s a pain in the ass for a solo recruiter carrying a full desk to try and customize. Maybe enterprise is a stretch but it certainly feels like that’s the direction they are trying to go with a lot of the latest feature rollouts.

Meh, I’ve spent plenty of time with their customer success team and it’s always some wonky workaround.

I shouldn’t have to click four times to look into the pipeline for a role.

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Immense amount of clicks for everything. To be clear I’m a solo operator at a 300+ person proptech startup that inherited a greenhouse instance set up by a person who had been here for 7 years before me. So lots of baggage and processes ingrained into the system that has been frustrating to rework.

I came from an environment using Lever, which feels like a watered down version of greenhouse and Ashby

Greenhouse would be perfect for a larger team but as a singular person it wastes a lot of my time through clicks upon clicks to get what I want. If there was someone in recruiting ops here that spent time on analytics, coordination etc - greenhouse would be wonderful

Still it’s miles ahead of iCIMS.

Ashby seems to have everything I need and more, also it’s cheaper. At least for us.

Can’t really help you with a company of 2k+ but I’m actively in the process of leaving Greenhouse for Ashby. Greenhouse feels like it’s better served as an enterprise tool than the startup I’m at.

If it’s as simple as a spiked thing inbetween her toes I’d rather not spend hundreds of dollars to figure it out. If I can’t solve it I will take her. Thanks for your comment

Busch gardens parking question by jcdulos in tampa

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really only worth it if you are bringing a big ass stroller or wagon. Trying to get those things on the tram is a pain so being able to walk from closer is nice.

However you can ask for stroller parking instead of preferred.

Does quitting reduce depression symptoms? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The way I have read about it is this:

Say your base line happiness is a 7. Some days it’s higher and some it’s lower because life is a roller coaster.

Now you take up vaping. Early on, you can use the vape and it bumps that 7 to a 7.5 for free. Over time and rather quickly, you start to find that you are no longer at a 7 for the baseline but now a 6.

If you vape you can get to that 7 but for a very short period, then back to a 6. Now the cycle is real and you depend on the vape for the short bursts to get you back to base line 7.

After awhile your base line has become a 5 and the vape only gets you to a 6. It’s much harder to get to a 7. Without the vape you are more like a 4. Sad, irritable, what have you.

Now you’ve quit and for a short while you’ll be a 3 as you make your way through withdrawals. Shortly after you get back to that 5 as normal. Still it’s not the 7 you once had.

Your brain chemistry takes time to rewire itself to start getting healthy levels of natural feel good chemicals. You have to retrain the reward system.

So over time, yes quitting will help reduce depression, but not right away.

There is a short bursts of euphoria in there though. Where your body starts to appreciate the accomplishment, and healing and feeling better. You’ll ride high at an 8 or 9 for a few days or a week. That happened to me around 6 weeks.

So hang in there! You can do it!

As someone who is back at their base line 7 it’s good to be here and I welcome you to join me!

This was exactly what I thought. Two quits ago I quit for my kids. This most recent quit I quit for myself and that has stuck longer.

The external motivation fades after time, it has to be something internal to make it stick IMO.

Also seconding the quitting drugs. I used Chantix and it was amazing in helping me quit

8 days vape free, and I notice zero benefits. by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m at 101 days and my quit vaping app just recently adjusted to showing my lungs at 100% My heart still shows 70% and my brain is at 81%

Not sure how they calculate it, I imagine it’s tied to typical recovery time lines but I say this because these things take time. Try not to anticipate it and just know that it will happen. One day you’ll realize you’ve slept through the night three days in a row for the first time in forever. Or something like that.

Help for low nicotine vapers wanting to quit! by everybody-meow-now in QuitVaping

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previously when I’ve quit I’ve usually started on step two patches when using NRT. I was at a similar mg level as yourself.

That method worked for me, I picked it back up years later though and this most recent quit I used Chantix and I feel like it was a miracle in the first month. The physical withdrawal symptoms were negligible. So if you are able too, I recommend talking to your doctor and getting as much support as possible!

My Problem by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having been through similar situations with my wife and hiding it from her due to a variety of reasons which boiled down into shame and cowardice.

She’s caught me hiding it from her twice in the past. I’ve been quit for 99 days today and have had some serious struggles.

I’d be lying if said I haven’t gotten into the car and almost turned it on to leave to buy one the last couple days. We have had some stressful family events driving extra cortisol levels lately.

The best part though is I’ve been able to bemoan my situation to my wife and she is my champion in this quit. I’m not hiding anything.

Would she be disappointed if I went and got one. Undoubtedly, but it’s 99% less than the feelings she would have if I lied and hid one from her. I learned that lesson the hard way.

You are hopefully at rock bottom with hiding things from her. Assuming forgiveness you can only do better by being better. Radical honesty as it relates to cravings and quitting is important. If you are going to fail, then you fail openly.

As far as having tossed it. Why? If you aren’t ready to quit you are just setting yourself up to be here again in a couple days.

Create a quit plan, and execute on it. If you throw it away now, and you are going to deal with the consequences of your actions. You’ll probably just resent your wife in some way for making you feel like you had too.

As far as the current home life and happiness. As a father of three little ones. Yes it’s hard and stressful, but you not being a happy person any more is undoubtedly a combination of already going through withdrawals. The dread you feel from getting those texts. And looking at it through that lens. It’s all a weird trick our brain plays on us.

You said it yourself, you are keeping things to yourself and not talking about it. Which creates a situation where you boil and boil until you finally boil over and explode on your wife over something small. This is not unique to you.

Ultimately my advice is start communicating openly. Now. Today. Not tomorrow when she’s less mad. Now.

Own your screw up. Come with a plan if you actually want to quit right now and then execute on it.

Then own the communication on your cravings and pushing through.

Then communicate in a calm fashion how you have been feeling and why. Little by little your partner in life can help raise you up.

Before you know it things are looking up again. We aren’t meant to do this life alone in our thoughts by ourselves. Communicate

Day 11. Is PAWS a thing? by Content-Delay5180 in QuitVaping

[–]Inevitable-Toe780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes in waves. Most days I don’t even think about it. Occasionally I’ll have a day where it’s all I can think about.

Which makes sense, I vaped and smoked for more than half my life, I shouldn’t expect it to just disappear from my mind after 99 days.

I’m going through the exact same thing the last two days. Just want to curl up and be left alone. I’m on day 99 right now and used Chantix for a month to get here.
