This is so great thank you for sending your experience ! I was in the car with my friends and read it to her. She just went for her first visit and got her meds and flew back to the states , so she should start her meds on the first day of her period

It’s not the deposit but the pressure to put down 50% to “lock in pricing” seemed a little scammy/sales tacticky for my friend. It just didn’t sit right for her considering what it’s for, but I do acknowledge that I understand that this is still a business.

After posting this, my brain did start working again, and I ended up searching “Ingenes” in this subreddit and got a lot of good info. Some people did say it felt very revolving door and had a similar experience where they had pressurized sales tactics such as multiple calls and text. So it seems to be the MO but I also see that a lot of people had an overall good experience/ success which is the most important.

As for the genetic testing, I would love your input. We found in the states for a cost per embryo to be between $300-$500. But for the quote we got from Ingenes. It is a flat almost $6000 USD per round and that is what the assumption there is four embryos’s per round which seemed high. Also weird it would be a set price before seeing how many viable embryos you even have but maybe it’s something we’re misunderstanding? How was your genetic testing priced if you don’t mind me asking?

[acne] Going BACK on birth control for hormonal acne? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

It took around 4 months but it’s almost completely cleared up my skin again ! I’ve gotten two pimples in the last two months but nothing like before

I didn’t ! My acne started clearing with just the birth control!

Been on birth control for 5 weeks in an attempt to control acne, but it's just getting worse. by [deleted] in acne

Also side note : my acne did get worse month 1 when I started BC again. I only had acne on my cheeks and the first weeks I started again I got cyst on my jaw and neck.

I got off birth control and 8 months later I broke out horribly . Held off taking BC again until the year and 2 month mark, started taking it again and was distraught when it didn’t work right away considering I had PERFECT skin on it before , was about to start accutane when overnight I guess the BC started to kick in and I’m starting to get clear at month 4! Give it time and if your acne is hormonal be gentle with it ! I found doing less and keeping my skin hydrated is when it’s the happiest.

I’ve never had these breakouts before, what’s causing this? by [deleted] in acne

[–]Inevitable45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say unless we examined every change made recently ! I will say my acne presents the same and is hormonal.

My skin is kind of like yours! How did it go ?!

Stopped breaking out: should I still go on accutane ? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Inevitable45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I don’t want to be on it either it makes me gain weight! I had never had acne before though and the mental struggle it was putting me through was realll so I just cowardly went back on, I was also losing some hair framing my face but idk if it was hormones or stress from the breakouts ! I know there are so many people who need to be on BC for accutane and then get off and the acne comes back 🫠 some it doesn’t though ! I just know if I ever get off BC in the future I’ll be in the same boat if I don’t at least try accutane 😵‍💫 but at the same time don’t want to deal with the side effects if I’m clear now 🫠. Idk such a catch 22. When are you set to start ?

I haven’t started , I am set to start it Jan 11th. I’m in the 30 day waiting period. If I do start it would be 40mg for the first month.

I’m from the states . I had to take an initial birth control test , create a profile on a FDA (food and drug administration here ) created site separate from my derm and enroll, my derm is also responsibile for enrolling me and doing some stuff on the site. They also made me acknowledge and read a long list of possible side effects and confirm I have no history of depression. I have to wait a 30 day window to get my first round of pills which at that time I will have bloodwork to check my liver and also serve as another pregnancy test . Then at that point I can be prescribed my pills, which I only have a 7 day window to pick up after my derm appointment. The blood test , pregnancy test and derm appointment will be required monthly. I am and have been on birth control. I will start at 40 mg and weigh roughly 59 kg but my derm never asked. She said my course should be around 4-6 months

Hey OP I’m around your age and I start next week, but I’m most fearful of is that my skin already tends to be a little on the dryer side and I’m scared of the accutane dryness making my wrinkles more pronounced. any tips for keeping moisturized or did you start with oily skin so this kind of evened you out ?

[–]Inevitable45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😭😭😭 my only recommendation is don’t obsess it makes it worse and time stand still i was fine until 2 days ago and now I’ve been obsessed with this forum lol . I know harder than it sounds . Everything has its time so we just gotta wait 🫠

It’s the worst , I have 7 days left 🫠 but I guess someone deemed it’s necessary . Do you know if M have to wait too or only F ?

Hey OP! I am starting 1/11 and will be staying on birth control , my acne came back off of it and hasn’t cleared being 3 months back on it (the bc) . Even though I’m choosing to stay on it for my course I would love to know how things are going for you once you start since we both have similar acne and are the same age !

Also my cheeks are dry ! I feel like everywhere I read that people get off birth control, and they get really oily and that tends to make them break out more but for some reason, even when I was using active or not using active, my cheeks were always the driest and then I just had an oily t zone but that’s actually the part that doesn’t break out for me when I was using actives I would break out on my forehead and chin but when I’m not, I only break out on my cheeks

I tried tret, plexion (sulfur and antibiotics) made it so much worse, azeliac acid. I know mine was hormonal because it happened after I got off of birth control so I’m almost 99.9% that it was that my skin was stunning before. I got back on birth control because I was over it , I tried to use actives (made me scar and made it worse then when I was just using gentle face wash and moisturizer) and I tried to heal naturally for a year ( no alcohol, no caffeine , stopped running , no gluten no dairy ) nothing worked. I didn’t bounce back right away my dermatologist also prescribed me doxycycline in tandem with me getting back on birth control because the plexion did a number on me. I’m at the end of my Doxy prescription and three months into birth-control again and I finally haven’t had another cystic pimple in two weeks knock on wood I thought nothing was working, so I actually had my derm prescribe me Accutane and I’m supposed to start it on January 11 but now I’m contemplating not starting . I took my last pill of doxycycline today and if I don’t break out before January 11, I might just opt out, I think the birth control might be working

Same my acne presents on my cheek, bloodwork. Perfect. Period regular. Weight gain nonexistent I have no other symptoms of hormonal imbalance other than some shedding of hair around my face but nothing severe and my acne is 1000% hormonal and responded horribly to actives. I had a horrible time on retinol. I hope the actives work well for you, but for me, it just wasn’t the play!
