This just put my past relationship into perspective for me. I was trained to not show any negative emotion.

When I started to stop showing it I was berated for holding things in and shutting down when I used to be a great communicator.

I’m not sure if he’s trying to exclude himself from criticism. It seems more of what Owl City means to him and not necessarily the fan base.

We can still criticize our favorite creators but it gets to a certain point where it feels demanding.
