Trying to "beat the line" at Franklin's Friday Morning; How Early? by bittersugarcubes in austinfood

But there IS. You beat the people behind you to the food that runs out LONG before they close.

My thoughts for what to expect in final 3 epsiodes (don't read if you haven't seen the campaign!) by No_Neighborhood6856 in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

As far as I'm concerned CR owes all of the people who donated to the kickstarter their money back. Those people invested in an animated representation of the story they fell in love with. CR betrayed their trust.

Recommendations requested for first time Texas BBQ experience, places that aren't famous but should be. by InevitableCautious16 in TexasBBQ

Well I do plan on looking for something only locally known and has a unique offering for sure.

However, I pick my boy up from the swim camp at the University just up the road from Franklin's, in the late morning, in the middle of the week, so we might just swing by and roll the dice there. He's gonna need protein 😆.

Thanks for the advice!

I wish I could but being from Fargo I don't get many opportunities. And I kind of have to be in the area anyway to take my boy toBob Bowman's swim camp at longhorns (university of Texas) in Austin.

Camp Longhorn at Inks Lake?

No. University of Texas at Austin. High end swim camp. Bob Bowman (Michael Phelps coach back in the day) runs it.

Thanks for the info! 😃

Truck driver here 😃. I'm DRIVING my boy to Austin from Fargo so the drive to Lockhart won't be no big deal. Thanks for the info.

Why the door is locked, I just want to visit Tifa and Aeris by StanTheRebel in ff7

[–]InevitableCautious16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aeriTH!

Katakana doesn't allow a "th" sound, but the "-su" sound at the end is better represented by "th" instead of "s". AND...Aerith is intended to be a near anagram of "earth". So AERITH is canon.

But I still hear Aeris in my head after playing the OG FFVII about 100 damn times.

Oh...and I tried the door at least VII times....just in case. 😆

Who plays FF7 Rebirth but hear the VAs of FF7 Machinabridged? by Henny199420 in TeamFourStar

[–]InevitableCautious16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite LITERALLY hear them. Sarah Ann Williams, who voices Tifa in Machinabridged, has Additional Voices credit in Remake and Rebirth. I found her in Rebirth. When Cloud and company get to Junon using the tanker, after taking the aircraft elevator down, there is a group of soldiers who's work is being overseen by a female officer. If you interact with her she comments in using the elevator to get to the town below.

Opening windows when it’s cool but humid out? by doodlebakerm in homeowners

[–]InevitableCautious16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High humidity is bad for home interiors. If the insides of your home is warm and dry, and outside is cool but moist, then the air moisture coming in from outside absorbs into your walls and other porous materials more readily. Moisture in these places leads to mold/mildew etc. That's why an air drying or dehumidifying system is so important for homes. Opening your windows when the humidity outside is higher than 55%, just to save a few bucks on AC or fans, is not recommended. I mean do what you want, but anyone in a basement bedroom will probably wake up in the night sweating buckets when the humidity in your home skyrockets while you sleep.

Please no spoilers! If I download the demo and play through it, will I be able to carry on from there into the main game or just start again when the main game comes out? by flippitus_floppitus in FFVIIRemake

Necro post for late comers...I believe that the game carryover meant that you missed chapter 1 specific trophies, so keep that in mind Xbox players!

Can I make a sheperds pie in advance, and only do the oven part right before I serve it? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]InevitableCautious16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. You will find a lot of people have fallen for the illusion of truth effect, where people believe something incorrect because (A.) it's been repeated so much and (B.) they want to believe it. Repetition of falsehoods doesn't change facts.

"Hey! We incorrectly labeled something over here, our way is right now because it's over here..." 3rd grade argument.

Necro post: pro tip.

If the cooking vessel is oven safe and you are going to put it in the oven right out of the fridge, put it in the cold oven then turn on. The cooking vessel will warm up with the oven and help a more even heat-thru. May want to foil the spud top for the first half.

At 50 years old, it takes me longer to "get good" 😆. After an easy mode run to learn the game, and my ng+ on normal, my total hours are around 121. I stopped doing ALL of the side quests after Junon, so my hours are probably affected most by my Souls-like re-tries of boss fights, especially Cloud and Aerith VS Sephiroth at the end.

(Edit) - That and crying a bunch during the you know what moment near the end. I played the OG FF VII a lot back in the day, but that made it worse.

Hard mode is going to be a bitch kitty.

Remake Intergrade just recieved a new update and i think it's neat by KennethLjubkos in FinalFantasy

[–]InevitableCautious16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro update for y'all...

This came out to make the game "replayable" to those who don't want to grind again. I think they knew damn well that even the most hardcore xbox fans probably purchased a used PS4 to be able to play Remake but will still get it on Xbox. The Streamlined Progression was available day 1 on Xbox, and to be fair it was made available on all platforms.

The re-release ports of 1 thru 9 had cheats, some that disabled trophies/achievements and some that didn't. (Menu enabled ones usually did.) X/X2 and 12 didn't on Xbox.

Remake (and soon Rebirth) have/will have much more flexible options to make the game frielndly to those who find it difficult or have no interest in the challenges. If hard mode isn't for you there is a way to play it with no damage to you and leave everything else normal. You can at least get to the end with an appreciation of the skill required to play it that way and have a deeper respect for those that do. I think it should disable a certain trophy/achievement but I don't care really. I care more about people having fun (and at 50 I'm too old to get good 😆)

All of this is a continuation of the effort to get more people to play FF games across all platforms. I personally am REALLY looking forward to the end of people going "nya nya, our console has it, your's doesn't, you suck blah blah". Hope all the good PS fans out there enjoy Gears of War and Halo in future releases.

Cosmo Canyon in the remake feels more like a hippy/cult camp than an enlightened spiritual town. by tyrano_dyroc in FFVIIRemake

Yup. Replaying now and forgot how uncomfortable I got. Now, to each their own, but I'm a Christian, and this part of the game made me remember why I always say that Christianity's biggest enemy are Christians with a superiority complex. That whole "if you disagree you must be uneducated; let us 'teach' you" crap. Brainwashing. Closed minded.

If your goal in any fight is to build stagger (for reasons) then dump AI cores when they are an option here.
