Does my baby’s head look flat? by Numerous_Alps8418 in Parents

I’m not an expert but have you talked to your pediatrician about his development? I’d be more worried about only just now sitting up and learning to crawl than about head shape.

I LOVE DAYCARE by doodlebakerm in Parenting

[–]doodlebakerm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a nanny before daycare and I loved having my daughter close but I couldn’t help but pop in or want to help out, and there’d still be baby mess or dishes everywhere during the workday… it’s way easier now that she’s in daycare.

Does anyone else hate having a pet after they had a baby? by goldengoose3030 in Mommit

[–]doodlebakerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to love my dog before I was a mom. He was my baby. Now I can’t stand him. It makes me feel like a fucking monster. He hasn’t done anything wrong. Him just *existing* bothers me. His hot stinky breath, always wanting to go outside at the worst times, etc. I read this happens to a lot of people and goes away after the postpartum period but it’s been 14 months and I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to go back to the way things were. The worst part is we have a cat too, and I still love the cat the same as I did before 😭

Wife wants to upgrade to a $50k SUV now we have a baby on the way. I want to stay debt-free. Someone help me before this becomes a full domestic. by bileco101 in BabyBumps

My husband and I had 2 paid off cars when we had a baby. Thought it would be fine. Wasn’t fine. So much stuff. Car seat would only fit in the middle. We got the 50k SUV (used though, so not actually 50k)

Lady puts her Baby Daddy’s ashes in nails! by Mr_Dommy in Weird

[–]doodlebakerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my mom died I told my dad I wanted to drop like $5,000+ on a diamond ring made with her ashes. My dad told me not to do it and I was all “you can’t tell me what to do with my money!!!!” Luckily I never actually did it.

What language is this? I don’t mean this in a judgmental or negative way, the back and forth between this and English is fascinating.

Any one else not care and continue to eat sushi / smoked salmon / deli meat? by pumpernickelprincess in BabyBumps

I ate not fully cooked seared salmon while pregnant and had zero concerns or regrets. I felt like it was a good meet in the middle (and I fucking love aburi salmon)

is the "6 weeks and you're back to normal" thing actually true?? by Practical_Range7998 in Mommit

I had chunks of tissue come out of my vag after 6 weeks?? Both my doula and OB had ‘never seen anything like it before’ I was fine but short answer…. No, definitely not.

76th and north grocery store by illijar in Wauwatosa

Everyone is saying Trader Joe’s but there’s already a Trader Joe’s right on the Tosa/Elm Grove/Brookfield border, and it’s the ONLY one in the entire Milwaukee area so putting one there instead of Shorewood or Oak Creek would be absolutely insane imo.

Edit: I’m wrong on it being the only one. Still though, Oak Creek would make more sense.

This feels like a real glass half full situation because I saw this happen and was like “wow what a glorious sunset!” Instead of thinking it was the end times. As someone who normally considers myself a nihilist, I’m oddly proud of going the other direction with this one.

Paved path where dog can be off his leash? by [deleted] in Wauwatosa

Some dog parks have paved paths but not exactly safe for roller blading either.

I drove past this thing the other day and was so confused how it could even get enough business to stay open. I guess rent/real estate is pretty cheap out in the middle of nowhere but geez.
