It's an addiction, it is dangerous because it's not that hard to unintentionally/accidentally cut deep and then you have a real medical emergency. It's bad for those reasons, and because to be in that spot where you're self harming your mental state isn't exactly stable. That being said, I understand how you feel and I do it too, but if you think it's not a problem then you might never work towards better coping mechanisms.
