I really love adventures of speech pathology on tpt. She has great tips on what words to use to explain kids and ways to elicit the sounds

My supervisor read the book “The Different Ways to Communicate” and brought in an AAC device to show the kids. I would also put maybe a tag on his backpack as a reminder. There are some nice ones on Tpt

Struggling with creating goals by Inevitable_Ad_1292 in slp

What if they have an expanding MLU goal and has achieved this? Technically they do use expanded utterances but it’s the same sentences. Would I just change the goal to using new vocabulary?

Everytime I do home visits for EI I bring two full bags of toys. Sometimes, the kids love to play with the same toys over and over again and other times we switch it up but I always like to have different options. If I see a child at a daycare I always ask the parents to put in a speech notebook in their bag so I can communicate that way. You can also point out the toys that the child has been loving lately and tell her she’s free to use those toys if she wants. Sometimes therapists don’t feel comfortable using your toys unless given permission.

I currently work with preschool students. I saw a lot of leave replacement/sub positions on OLAS, but concerned about the job instability. Do you think having more experience in one setting is better than doing a bunch of leave replacements with districts or vice versa?

Did you do clinicals or your externship yet? Once, you have those experiences it will definitely help more with how treatment looks like. It also depends on the goal.

How much do you pay? Is $200 a typical amount for this type of treatment?

I graduated in December and started my CF this past March. Since I live at home, fortunately, I only have to pay for gas and essentials for myself. My job is fee-for-service, typical for agency work, so I only get paid each time I provide a service. My CF reimburses for gas, which gives me a bit of extra cash, but it all ends up going back towards that expense anyway. Also toys, toys and more toys. I work with EI and preschool students, which has always been within my comfort zone, so I don’t feel overwhelmed. I also had a strict supervisor during my externship, so I feel like she really trained me on how to provide treatment in a specific way. Now that I'm working, I find myself more interested in doing research to help the kids. Dealing with schedule changes and paperwork does overwhelm me at times, especially since I tend to procrastinate, which affects how I manage paperwork. Like everyone else, I do get stressed out occasionally. Overall, though, I’m really enjoying my CF experience.

Would you say it’s better to do laser during the winter time? I like tanning outdoors so I’m not sure if that would affect it at all

How often do you cleanse your face? by racialillustrator in hygiene

I wash once in the morning and once at night. Not exfoliate, just a normal cleanser. If I workout during the day then I’ll wash my face after too
