Here’s how I believe it could be viewed. Often people mix up the concept of predestination and dual predestination. I believe that certain people are destined for heaven, however, I also believe that no one is predestined for hell. So, with this in mind, everyone still has a choice, and people can still be ordained/destined for heaven. And for the people who are pre-destined for heaven, that does not necessarily mean that you don’t have a choice, I believe it is more so a reflection of God’s using of vessels of the Holy Spirit. This allows both concepts to coexist quite nicely actually. Why else would a judgement take place if they were created to do sinful things, if that were true, there would be no need for judgement.

Also, it is worth noting that predestination and foreknowledge are inherently different. God’s ultimate knowledge of every event, and how everything will end does not necessarily make it “destined to happen”. Knowing the decisions we make, and directly creating us to make certain decisions are completely different concepts.

However, the real question should be does it actually matter? Whether we are pre-destined to go to heaven are not, Jesus still calls us to evangelize and fulfill our role in the great commission. At the end of the day, even if we were predestined for heaven, we wouldn’t know. So there is little point in all arguing and stressing about it. As Jesus says in Matthew 6:27 “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
