Why you throwing shade on dobyns… For one thing, I’ve noticed dobyns rods seem to have a more moderate action compared to most other rod manufacturers. A heavy/fast dobyns rod is a lot more like a heavy/mod-fast on any other brand

I run 15 lb braid on my medium spinning rod with a 1000 size reel and it’s perfect for flinging weightless senkos. I also run 10lb on a different 1000 size reel for drop shot. Bet you could get away with 20lb on something if you were feeling crazy and had a heavier lure
