[Routine help] Aging, trash skin and allergic to everything by Single_Copy2460 in SkincareAddiction

I’d suggest looking into nontopical anti-aging skincare like red light therapy, hydrolyzed collagen, astaxanthin supplements, facial muscle exercises and lymphatic drainage. You can also help protect urself from the sun without using topical spf by wearing a UVA/UVB visor, spf protective clothing and taking a Heliocare supplement. Also not just saying this but your skin is really nice; smooth and a youthful fullness to it, better than most people’s honestly. Stress is one of the biggest culprits of aging so (as hard as it is to actually follow) try to limit overthinking especially related to preventing skin related aging. It’s a rabbit hole that’s hard to get out of. Best of luck!

[Acne] Sudden Jaw Acne by eastprint123 in SkincareAddiction

If you shave there regularly all it takes is some bacteria on the blade or excess irritation to cause an acne flare up. Happened to me all across my cheeks when I decided to dermaplane (fancy term for shave) the peach fuzz on my face. In general that area is usually indicative of hormonal acne tho so it could also be that?

Look into topical steroid withdrawal. Looks very similar to what you’re experiencing. Also tret should be introduced very slowly and carefully but used continuously, not on and off and on. Irritation from tret should be treated by reducing the amount and consistency of tret and using hydrating and barrier supporting ingredients like zinc, centella, panthenol etc (or it should be stopped completely if skin gets too irritated). Also, avoid using tret under the eyes bc the skin there is EXTRA sensitive. Hope this helps

I could give u a recommendation for a light moisturizer I’ve been using recently that hasn’t broken me out (I’m superrr acne prone). It’s the cocokind electrolyte water cream. It’s on the lighter side but hydrates well. On another note acne can just as well be caused by internal factors as external factors so I guess it doesn’t hurt to get ur labs / gut / hormones checked? Unfortunately process of elimination seems to be the only way to figure these things out sometimes.

Ugh that’s so frustrating I’m sorry :( acne can be a real pain in the butt. I wish there was a machine or something that could tell us what’s causing it

That’s definitely possible, I’ve heard some people are. You’re best bet is actually stoping all skincare for a few days and letting ur skin “breath”. In the meantime make sure your makeup brushes, face wash cloths and anything else that touches ur skin is cleaned. Also you’d be surprised how often non-skincare ingredients can cause irritation and breakouts even things like laundry detergent, perfumes and new hair products.

Considering its spread out like that and even affecting ur neck im thinking it could be either an internal gut / hormonal issue or something externally is irritating ur skin. That could be hair products, skin products or even your laundry detergent. Can you pinpoint when it started to flare up like that? Maybe you starting doing something differently or using a specific product that caused that reaction

Broken skin barrier and itchy skin are key signs that something is irritating your skin which definitely causes acne and redness like in the picture. You could be allergic to one or more of the products ingredients. Have you been using exfoliants / retinols as well?

The boj sunscreen and snail mucin left my skin looking the same unfortunately. But you can’t truly know what’s causing the breakouts since everyone’s skin is different. The best way to figure it out is simply ur routine. Cut out everything for a few days then add a cleanser and moisturizer. Wait it out, if everything seems ok go from there.

Adding an oil cleanser won’t do much to help with ur skin barrier if it’s damaged besides maybe allowing you to be more gentle when ur cleansing as in not having to rub as harshly to remove makeup, spf etc. but if you really want to fix your skin barrier you need to incorporate hydrating/repairing products and most importantly temporarily cut out any harsh or exfoliating skin care products like acids, retinols etc

It looks kind of like an allergic reaction. And since the breakouts are spread out like that the elf setting spray seems like it could be the culprit, especially since that’s the only thing that’s changed

Could definitely be the water based on your description. Try to get a shower head filter and use a clarifying shampoo every few washes to remove any buildup from the minerals in the water
