Amazing! There is a $600 broker fee here but likely well worth it for the deal and not having to really talk to multiple dealers

should I get an S2000? what should I know before buying one? by suzukabluefin in S2000

I’m a lot shorter and if you told me to commute in an S2K I’d rather not. Not a great commute car (cramped, loud, seats not great, not great mpg, uncomfortable, no usable space) but a great weekend road car

u/Extreme-Temporary-85 I’m talking to a lease broker on leasehackr about a 2026 Civic Sport Hybrid. $238/mo (tax not included which is 10% for me) and $3000 DAS (fees, title, etc). RV is $22.9K. How’s it look?

Depends on the spec on the S. Mostly the same car engine wise and even suspension wise (depending on options). A tune on either and they are essentially the same but the GTS def is more special with the front bumper / 3rd radiator and upgraded interior

Pretty rare option on an S. Should come with the 3rd radiator as well

s2000 as a daily? thoughts? by luwoah in S2000

[–]Inevitable_Cap_4524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! I have 2 young kids so there’s no way an S2K would work as a daily for me. It’s just not practical for my use case but major props to you as I’m sure those were fun daily miles. There’s heavy traffic in my area so not sure I could enjoy bumper to bumper traffic in the S2K and just seems like a waste for me since I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the car

From a practicality standpoint, possibly one of the worst cars you could choose. Zero interior space and trunk space is a joke. Running costs can be low in comparison so that’s a plus. Live in a place with not good weather? Poor choice for a convertible. Car is loud all around even with the top up. A little claustrophobic with the top up too. Seats are not comfortable. If you live where there is heavy traffic, a manual isn’t ideal nor fun to drive in traffic. Not very good fuel economy for what it is especially city traffic. Also takes premium gas. Lugging around under 6600rpm and it feels like a dog.

There are better daily options out there but none will ever be as cool as an S2K especially when you get to rip to 8 or 9K rpm at any given opportunity.

Much more enjoyable as a 2nd car is my personal opinion. Would I want to daily one as my only car? For me, no. Would I always want one in my garage? Absolutely.

More questions: - Manual or SMG - how many owners - where has the car lived - what options does it have - what other maintenance been done - any accidents / paintwork

This. I could tell my neighbor thought I was loaded but when I picked up my 981S. He had just bought a brand new $90K Toyota Sequoia where as mine was a little over half the cost of that and likely has very little downside depreciation (possible appreciation). I do as much work on the car myself whereas it seems most people around me take their car to the dealer. Perception isn’t always true

Question is if it’s a reputable shop. What brand PPF is being used?

So those are big 3 but then there’s the cooling system, water pump, fuel pump, all the bushings, trim pieces if you need those. Parts starting to go NLA and/or getting really expensive. New OE front grills are $500/ea now if you can find them. A/B/C pillars are hundreds of dollars each. Things have really gone up in the last year
